Hey guys,
I'm about to drop my truck. Bought 3" spindles and 1" springs...
As for getting the stock springs out, who uses a spring compressor, or is it really needed?
Ever had any problems NOT using one to get the stock springs out?

You can bust everything loose and have the jack under the lower control arm. Lower it slowly and it should be fine. I've done it several times and never had an issue with it.

^^what he siad, put the jack under the lca, pop the bottom ball joint off the spindle, thn lower the lca. make sure the truck is high enough so you can lower the lca all the way

If the spring is stock height, it might still be under a lot of pressure & want to 'pop' out. This can be potentially dangerous.

A simple trick to keep this from happening is to wrap something (rope, strap, wire, chain) around 1 of the coils before releasing the tension on the spring. If it wants to pop out, you have a tether on it keeping it under control.
