Opinions, Please

Thanks, for looking.... I bought this truck a few months ago, pretty much just like it sits. Question is, should I leave the wheels painted orange, or paint them back the original silver/gray color?

Re: Opinions, Please

My opinion is to paint them the original wheel grey. Nice truck. I like the way it stands also.

Re: Opinions, Please

I'd go with the argent silver, the way they came from the factory. The orange wheels seem to stick out to me. Good find on the truck by the way! We might need to see more pics.

Re: Opinions, Please

I dont dislike the orange, it gives the truck a unique kind of look IMO. I might paint them back to original myself but to tell the truth, I would put some new wheels on a truck that nice. I dont see how you can go wrong whatever you do.

I'd paint 'em silver, turn the white letters in and 86 the bed rails.....then I'd drive it.

Nice rig.

If you are going to keep these wheels, then I'd paint 'em back. As nice as your truck looks though, may I suggest looking for some factory PO1 wheelcovers.

Re: Opinions, Please

I would paint them white to match the cab and the white wall lettering on the tires, And then find some nice original dog dish chrome hub caps to match the trim. The kind with the blue chevy emblem and black trim, just my .02.

Re: Opinions, Please

Thanks for all the opinions and compliments on my truck. The picture makes it look a lot nicer than it actually is. It's not a show truck, but it is a good solid truck with minimal rust.
I have the original invoice & owners manual. The truck was originally from North Mississippi, and as far as I can tell, it's always been titled in Mississippi.

The SPID actually shows the P01s as an option.

Re: Opinions, Please

Silver paint. I also swapped for the later trim rings on my old 68. They make the wheels look deeper, I dug it.

Re: Opinions, Please

I'm a fan of the primer grey and red rims. This kinda falls under that category because it's not an obnoxious color and that it matches the paint. I say leave em.. I like it

Re: Opinions, Please

I bought a green truck a couple of years ago ,it had color matched wheels and I painted them rallye wheel silver and it changed the whole feel of the truck and looked a lot better imo. Nice truck. What part of north MS? I live in east AR close to the MS river

Re: Opinions, Please

If it were me: I'd paint them back to Rallye Silver (Argent Silver), cause it will make the entire truck stand out. Absolute Classic style with the Argent Silver Wheels.

I agree. I really want to upgrade to the 8" wide Rallies, anyway
