Did GM do this?

Check out the interior and exterior colors on this truck and tell, me would GM have sent one out of the factory looking like that?

I am guessing maybe the Original Owner asked for a different option or so.

Re: Did GM do this?

Why not? All the new owner had to do was check the boxes. I remember a burb in canada had a similar combo factory.

The poster of that CL ad must be on crack. Did you see the long ignore list?
If I was selling it I'd want all these to hit the listing!

The year/make/model of rigs like this is enough to attract potential buyers.

Re: Did GM do this?

Reminds me of a light metallic blue '83 K10 with a dark red interior I worked on at a shop in the late eighties. I checked seat bolts and dash hardware for evidence of R & R as I couldn't believe the factory would put out anything that horrendous.....it was all factory.

So yeah, it's prolly OE.

Re: Did GM do this?

According to the Truck Data Book I have for '69, there are suggested color and interior combos, but the ultimate choice of the buyer was what was done. Nowadays, GM has interior/exterior combos that you have to follow.

I'm thinking the majority of vehicles you see on the lots are ordered by someone at the dealerships who are doing their best to appeal to as many potential buyers as possible. Ditto back in the day, but buyers who were ordering their vehicle new, had some leeway even if they didn't have very good sense when it came to color combos. What I saw was some red, white and blue, on that truck.

Re: Did GM do this?

A point to ponder.
2012 silverado's only have three interior color options:
Ebony, cashmere and titanium - basically black, tan and grey

$3,500? Interior color be damned, that looks to be one heck of a good deal!

I would think that he wrote ignore for the person reading the post. I suspect its his "tag" list so any unfortunate person that is looking for a ford or dodge or anything put in that list will get his truck on the search.
