Oregon 500/500

I been doing this loosely organized event for the last four years called the Oregon 500/500 which stands for 500km of mixed gravel and paved back roads in a $500 car and I thought I share what I found to enter for this year. Nobody has brought a car from the sixties car so it was an unofficial challenge for this year.
\
And here are some from the past, not all mine

Yep, blue interior, push button auto, slant six. I first saw it on CL around Thanks Giving and made an offer last month.
Get a $500 car and join us, May31 & June 1
Thanks

Lots of them are "Ran when parked x years ago" cars. If it's not a sought after body style and or badly rusted they are really cheap when someone has to bring a trailer and wench to haul them away. It's great if you already have a parts donor car for it at home too.

BUT..... Left Hand Drive.

I would love to have this little car, or the Chrysler the OP posted.

This Datsun has my heart.

What happens to the cars that survive the race?

Funny you should mention that one. The green Datsun was mine two years ago, I found it as a "hadn't ran in years car", should have kept it but it got traded. Most get resold on Craigslist.
The Valiant has more rust than most would bother with restoring, I think it looks like a Fremont or Ballard escapey and don't know what it's future holds.

In 1972 my dad bought the 1200GX sedan version of that little Coupe as my brother were asked our opinions, and we wanted our own rear doors (He had a 2 door Ford Corsair before that) but he bought the 4 door, but never forgot the 2 door he so wanted.

Great imagination.

Wonder if anything like this goes on elsewhere around the country?
