My 1971 C20 2wd Suburban Thread

New on here and wanted to share the modifications I make to my new obsession. Next step is beefing up the wheels little (All terrains) from the stock 16.5's. Possibly leveling it (rotted out air bags in the rear).

New gas struts (LMC) are awesome for the barn doors. Found another burb in town (red).

I used a LMC front bench seat cover for the rear seat and it came out pretty good.

Re: My 1971 C20 2wd Suburban Thread

Low profile stereo install. Here is what I did for my 71 c20 burb. I wanted to keep stock dash/radio. I found a new/used Kenwood head unit for $50 on CL w/ AUX input (this is key- usb connection will not typically allow volume control from Iphone 5). I found a Dash Kit shroud on Amazon for $15. I am running a 6' AUX behind dash-under carpet and up to center console. I can control all music and volume with just my phone. I have 2 speaker boxes under 2nd row seat.

Took Big Blue up the coast to Plaskett Creek- Big Sur camping with the kids. Just had some magnflow mufflers installed and it sounds like a beast.

Looking good! You should paint in the black strip on the grille that was stock in 1971. It sharpens up the look and is an easy/cheap rattle can quality fix. It always looks 'right' when I see someone who has done it.

Awesome! How does the performance compare with new upgrades? How much did you spend on it? I have a stock 350 with stock manifolds and exhaust, looking for a little more grunt.

It should be running this week. I'm expecting an increase 40-70hp. Not sure what 350 was in it. The parts were all together around $1500.

Rear end advice needed 71 C20 2wd Suburban!

Hi Folks,

I have a 71 C20 2wd Suburban. I am looking to find an alternative for my increasingly loud Eaton H052. I have found some resources on this forum. It appears I need to look for a Corporate 14 bolt or Dana 60 to have minor fabrications done to fit properly. Any input and resources are much appreciated.
