Re: Help installing kick panels

I just installed kick panels with speakers. I drilled through where the bracket for the kick panel vent handle goes, and and then screwed that bracket through the kick panel into the sheet metal behind it. They are nice and secure. I also have the Dodge Dakota push-on door seals, which nicely fit over the edge of the kick panel and give it a very finished look.

Re: Help installing kick panels

Nice, thats what I was debating on doing either using Trim screws or whether strip adhesive, I have no clue how they mounted these things from the Factory I couldn't see any GM Plastic Trim holes like the door panels have to hold it on.
I'm going to start looking around for some Black Trim Screws so everything Blends in well.

Thanks

67-72's didn't come with any kick panels from factory, just the painted steel cab. That's why there's no mounting holes there

What's the deal with the Dodge Dakota push-on door seals?

Actually just found another thread about this...looks pretty slick.

That would explain the absence of info out there to get these things mounted in.

This also struck my curiosity, nothing but good things about it all over the board so I went ahead and ordered some from GMCPauls.
Thanks again for the great tips guys

Re: Help installing kick panels

I used 3m velcro on mine...3 pieces on each panel and stuck it right on the steel. Been on there a year or so and havent moved a bit. That way you can always remove them if you need to

Re: Help installing kick panels

Y'all have any pictures you could share of the velcro installation? Looking to install kick panel speakers w/o drilling a bunch of holes.

Had to trim the panels and drill a hole where the fresh air vent screwed on...added security! Also put some sound deadening on the backs and relocate the dimmer switch...oh, and replaced the carpet!

Yes it does, I have my radio at Gary tayman right now and just fixing to order kick panel speakers this week custom auto sounds. Who has th best price on them and can anyone tell me if the upgrade pioneer speakers are worth the extra money compared to the custom auto speakers?
