59 gmc config question

Hey folks,

I havent posted on here for a while, but as things change, so does my need for info and help. My father and I each have a truck, and now he just went and totally out of character picked up two more. We work on our trucks together. One is a 59 gmc, original v8/power steering/power brakes big window, chrome treatment, even around the cab. My question has to do with the front bumper. I like whats unique. So I like the bumper bullets that GMCs have, and would want them on the truck. As far as I was always concerned, 55.2-59 all had bumper bullets, even though they changed slightly at one point (58?) to where there was almost like a nipple or a tip at the end. A friend of ours, who claims to be a gmc guru, says that they didnt have them in 59. I dont see why they would just take them off all of a sudden like that. The truck currently doesnt have them but figured they were probably removed, as most ppl prefer the clean look without them. Of course, for reasons I explained, i would want to put some on.

Could someone please confirm if 59 gmc's came original with bumper bullets?

thanks for your time.

Re: 59 gmc config question

I have a 59 GMC and I have not seen anything official on it, but rarely do you see a 59 with bumper bullets. Neither my driver or my parts truck, both 59 GMC's, had bumper bullets.

Many 58's have bumper bullets.

Re: 59 gmc config question

This GMC ident charts notes that the 59's didn't have bumper bullets.

Well, as Ab Lincoln said, "Don't believe everything you read on the InterWeb.".

Re: 59 gmc config question

Do you have pics to share of the trucks?

Is the 59 GMC a Canadian or US truck?
