Question on hub cap paint, argent silver ? - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Listing on Ebay says 1969 dog dish chevy hub caps are painted, one year only, argent silver from the factory (along with the black and blue trim). Just wanted to know if this is correct or not??
Anyone knowledgeable on this ? SS Tim ?

My Dad's 68 GMC 910 (Canadian factory) had painted silver caps. It also had painted bumpers, painted grille, and all of the chrome side trim, which is weird.

It had a lighter and no radio, power steering but manual brakes. A weird option set. Heavy duty everything with a 307 backed by a TH400. Why? No idea.

My Dad would repaint the hubcaps every couple of years, and he wouldn't have done so if they were stainless.

This is all just from memory. Don't bet the farm on it.

They were argent color in the start of production, and went to white sometime in the 69 model year. Here in an NOS one I have, it has 1st design written on the back by someone. Sorry it came out sideways, but you get the idea lol
