Looking at restoring my 72 off the spid I have got the number, 1PA120 Deluxe wheel covers, does anyone know this code and could somene post a pic of the correct wheel cover. Thank you

Is your truck a Custom Deluxe/Highlander? I don't know the code for the Monte Carlo wheel covers they used.

Yes it is the highlander, did they use that same wheel cover on all of the highlanders ? Or was it optional ?

GR-68, when looking at your SPID code all you want is the 3 digit code which in this case is the 2nd, 3rd and 4th digits. PA1 is the option code that you were searching for.

Also, here's a picture with the hubcaps installed. I don't think they are that bad.

I didn't like any wheelcovers in '73 when I took those off my first '72. I put (white) wide steelies with '55 Chevy car caps on. Gotta run narrow whitewalls for wheelcovers to look right. I never liked the fake lug nuts in a fake crazy wide pattern ones either till these trucks became something to restore. We don't see these often and our eyes are used to the other covers. They have grown on me, no so bad now. It's another look from another time

Just my opinion, if others like them I am cool with that, to me it just doesn't look like a truck type of wheel cover. Almost reminds me of the ones that came on late 70's I believe it was ford trucks

'67 was the first year wheel covers came on GM Trucks. I remember thinking it looked so odd in '67. They were a top trim car item like fender skirts were. Most cars had them back then. They also played a big part in the '50s-60s customs scene. So you saw a lot of emphasis on them out on the road. It was popular to swap them and there were favorites, like Old Fiesta or Cadillac Sombreros. On these trucks they played their part in giving these trucks more car-like features.

That truck above looks good, I think. see these caps as looking like a dog dish with beauty ring covers vents. In the '50s they had trim rings like that which made a dog dish look like a wheel cover. Many wheel covers have a design to look like it's those two pieces
