Re: Mid-life man thing

When my dad died June 2016 he had a 2012 Camaro convertible burnt orange color and V6. I didn't want it so my step brother bought it from the estate. I bought an 86 Vette that ended up needing way more than it's worth, so I traded the Vette and some cash for this....

At this point I'm well past 'mid-life', but back then it was a boat I could stay on.
Bought her 14 years ago and is still my home away from home- with a view!

Re: Mid-life man thing

I never had any mid-life type behavior because I stayed a kid and did what I wanted my whole life. I became a responsible family man, but that didn't mean loose track of who I am or what I like. I never got, "Getting married, must sell" or having baby, must sell", unless it was purely a money matter. I'd never marry a woman that wanted me to stop liking what I like. But now I don't have many toys, cuz my X had her crisis.

Same here, I raised my son and have been here for my older son and daughter (actually step children from X's first that I raised from young). I would never want to be perfect. Being human is much better.

Re: Mid-life man thing

I've never had a mid life crisis, never had the time to. However, I did get me wife a '67 Mustang that turned into an '80 Corvette that morphed into a '98 Camaro SS.

Heck, she would even let me drive them every other year or so!

Re: Mid-life man thing

I have a friend with one of the fancy new Camaros. I sat in it, gives me claustrophobia. Its weird because its actually a pretty large car on the outside.

Ive sat in a Lamborghini Countach before. Pulled the door down and was ready to flip out. Too closed in for my liking ... That's the only reason Ive never bought one. Well also the fact I couldn't afford one could also be a reason =)

Nice place for that buggy. My favorite ride to cruise Sky;one Drive was the '63 Riviera. Set the speed minder at 40 and focus on the great views and scenary

My sister lives on that hill facing Massanutten Mt to the west. Not far from Bill Athey's place. Woke up one Saturday morning after a visit and took a couple pictures.

Wouldn't it be cool to make a truck caravan down Skyline Drive to Blue Ridge Parkway, down to a show in the Smokies? That's the kind if thing I'm building my '67 for...gettin to the show more than sitting there.

It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: Mid-life man thing

Like Andy, not "mid-life" but I kinda had a moment in my early 30's where I realized if I "didn't do this now" I would never (or at least not for a long time) have a cool 60's Pony Car. WANTED a 67-69 F-Body bad, but good one's were way out of my budget, so for half the price I picked this up. For a non DD, I drive the piss out of it. +/- 30,000 miles in 7 years.

The good news is that this car has gone up enough in value that if I really wanted to jump to an F-body, the difference in price isn't as bad anymore.

Damn your camaro sips fuel. 30.9 is impressive.

The wife was out with her sister so I brought this home last year. Officially back in the saddle, similar to my old bike. I did a few things to it but I won't mod it like the last one, need more money for my c10 build!

My 2015 Z71 is the same. Gets an unbelievable 23-24 mpg straight highway. Tested it out quite a few times, even checked it by hand because I didn't believe it.

However 99% of the times it's taking me 8 miles to work that takes 30 minutes, has a redlight or stop sign every half mile and traffic... 14 mpg because I get irritated with traffic. When I "try" I can squeeze 17 out of it, but it's too hard to drive like that. 14 is easier and more fun.
