Heater Housing Metal back
Hello All,
Finally getting into getting my 72 C-10 updated. I have teamed up with a local shop for motor and transmission rebuild while I refurb all brackets and under hood items. I am working on getting the heater core and condenser housing cleaned and replacing all switches, resistor and gaskets. My problem comes in with the metal plate behind the housing that holds the blower motor. Is there any such luck of someone making replacements for these? Otherwise does anyone have ideas to repair?[ATTACH]1810774[/ATTACH Thanks, Charles |

I guess no one does make those heater housing parts, so as Grumpy Old Man says, used is your best bet. You shouldn't have a trouble finding one.

Re: Heater Housing Metal back
What’s the best way to save that metal part? I’ve got a rusty one. I was thinking about wire brushing it real good and maybe using por 15 on it. Possible toxic fumes from using it in that heated air flow a concern?

POR-15 would seal it up OK but you still need to get the inside coated. As hard as the POR gets I don't think you would get any fumes from it when dry. LockDoc

Re: Heater Housing Metal back
It is coming off to get to both sides. I’ve not used por 15 so im unaware of its cautions. Replacement brads can be picked up at parts stores. Or used to be.
