Custom inner fender ideas.

Could you guys post some pics of what you've done as far as modifying your inner fenders to give clearance from being lowered. Looks like my inners are coming out soon if I cant find a nice looking alternative. Thanks in advance guys.

Re: Custom inner fender ideas.

Anybody modify their factory inners to have the extra room and keep the factory look? I thought I saw a post from N2Trux but cant seem to find it. I would really appreciate someone helping me find this post or an alternative to flat sheet metal inners. I would really like to keep the factory look of the inners as much as possible.

Re: Custom inner fender ideas.

I assume your talking about the front inner fenders. I made these fit my 86 with a sheetmetal shrinker/stretcher. made a nice radius fender with tons of clearance for the tire. the rear fenders, notice they are touching the top of the bedside. I added enough sheetmetal on the bottom to raise it for the clearance and kept the stock fender in the bed.

Re: Custom inner fender ideas.

Those all look good. I am just trying to keep the look of the factory inner fender. I found the post where N2Trux sectioned the inside of the front fenders to move the factory inner up. I may do that this winter.

That is very nice but if I do that I will lose my booster/master assy and my A/C. I could always go with a vintage air but my A/C blows 36 out the vent. Hate to mess with that. Not to mention the extra cost. Well, the front clip is coming off to modify like Kens. Thanks for the help fellas. Time to cut up my truck.

Re: Custom inner fender ideas.

Very nice also but that A/C box looks out of place next to that sheet metal fender. i have removed my inners for now and will section the inside of the fenders to move the factory inner higher in the engine compartment. More work but a more factory look which is what I am looking for. Thanks for the pics.

Re: Custom inner fender ideas.

Most show cars have the booster under the dash and the ac they hide.If you don't want to shave the firewall normal trailer fenders work well.

Here is mine, they are steel sheet meatl underneath and the aluminum on top is just for looks purposes, they bolt on so if you have any issues you can just take them out.

Nothing with any detail. Those were built several years ago by a local shop that is no longer in business. We have a gazillion hours in smoothing, sectioning, widening, etc.

Tell em open back up! Guess I can take these picks to the "Magic Man" around here. He's higher than a giraffe's A**hole, but it'd be worth it for the stock look.
