Re: Went to the NHRA drag races...
Couple of passes down the track, this was taken with a point and shoot camera, but turned out ok.
http://s108.photobucket.com/albums/n...t=M4H00130.mp4 http://s108.photobucket.com/albums/n...t=M4H00132.mp4 This was my daughter after seeing and hearing the first pass of a top fuel nitro-methane dragster for the very first time... You can never really explain how that feels to someone and really make them understand. You just have to experience it.

We went for sunday only. It was my 3rd time there for the nhra drags. I went one other time for an ASA race many years ago.

That is no joke. It will rattle your insides around pretty good.

Re: Went to the NHRA drag races...
my first time was back about 11 years ago at Joliet IL. my boss got me pull pass tickets and included sitting in an air conditioned tent eating a ribeye steak while watching the race on 7 big screen monitors. the audio was naturally supplied.
you can feel the pulse of each cylinder in your chest. I learned REAL quick to leave before they fire up the engine after a tear down. |

Re: Went to the NHRA drag races...
I just love it, there is nothing like that thump......and thump is not a strong enough word. I have been going on-off for more than 35 years. I was only 10-11 the first time at Columbus.
It's really cool to watch the warm-up. When they crack that throttle and scare the $(&@)$& out of anyone who has never seen it before. or if they happen to be down wind..... LMAO
