Misc Parts for GM 190-260 Hp Crate Engine.

I have about all the parts I need to install the 190-260 HP crate engine, but there are a few parts that I have not been able to find. I don't remember seeing a parts requirements list for the 260 - so I'm using the 290 HP engine parts requirements. So here's what I need: Pilot Bearing – 03752487; Oil Plug (Right Side) – 09421743; Oil Indicator (Left Side) – 03951576; Upper Oil Tube (Left Side) – 03876870. I can't find a cross reference of the GM parts numbers to NAPA or Advance Part Numbers. Is this engine equal to a specific model year so that I can go in and simply say give me parts for a 1978 C10 350 for example? What have others done in getting the exact parts that they need?

They should have given you a roller bearing looking plug. This goes on the side you do not want the dipstick on.It will be pounded into the dipstick hole you do not want. If you need the dipstick and tube ask for the one you currently use Example 1970 C10 with a 350 V8. As far as the pilot bushing if the engine is the old style wit 2 piece rear main seal ask for the 1970 C10 pilot bushing. If it has a 1 piece rear main seal ask for a 1996 Vortec 5.7 pilot bushing. They may be the same but I do not know for sure.

Is this the gm goodwrench crate? If so its the older style with 2 piece rear main. I have the same engine in mine and I just order parts for my make and model without issues so far. As far as I know it's about as standard and universal as you can get for a sbc

yep I have the same engine waiting to drop in. A standard dip stick and tube for a gen 1 small block is easy to find. My goodwrence came with 2 plugs for the dipstick holes.
double check your crank, mine came with a pilot bushing installed.

My Goodwrench 350 came with a pilot bushing in the crank. It was the bronze-looking non-metallic one. Check, because your engine might already have one installed, too.

Yup, both of the crate engines I have bought came with the pin/plug for the non used dipstick hole and the pilot bushing in place....
