Re: FITech Experiences ?

Is this the correct vented cap?
I can suck through it, but I can't blow through it.

Re: FITech Experiences ?

Would this be a tank with an internal fuel pump I could use instead of the Fuel Command Center?

Re: FITech Experiences ?

As long as the pump puts out the correct PSI and volume needed by the EFI, you can us any one you want. If you don't use the FCC, you have to run the return fuel line back to the tank.

Maybe a future upgrade to get the tank out of the cab.

Re: FITech Experiences ?

I did notice the instructions misrepresent the location of certain features of the TBI.
Fortunately the Return Fitting is marked on the TBI.

Yes. In the diagram, you can see the pump and the pickup screen. So it should work.

Thanks
I might do that for a future upgrade to get the tank out of the cab.

I am very pleased with the gas tank I ultimately chose in this thread. It was priced right, and you can get an electric pump for it too. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=621177

Re: FITech Experiences ?

Because I've read of some having issues with getting a good ground, I ran a good wire to the end of the ground lead.

I caught the episode too. They used a F.A.S.T. system.

What would be a good target AFR for a 283/327?

Re: FITech Experiences ?

i was looking through the manuals and noticed there is a paragraph is red that states you MUST run a vent line back to the tank and it is dangerous to vent to atmosphere.

Is this a CYA from them and is it normal to just run the vent line out the bottom of the truck somewhere?

If you are talking about the vent line from the Fuel Command Center then it should return to the tank. If for some reason the float in the FCC gets stuck it will be returing liquid fuel.

For the record my Go EFI 4 kit has been up and running for a couple months with no issues. I'm using the inline setup.

Re: FITech Experiences ?

have run close to 500 miles so far and the system has been running perfectly

the only thing i see that needs attention is the fuel tank needs to be switched out to one behind the rear diff when my window is down i get a lot of fuel smell coming in. When i roll the windows up and run the AC smell goes away!

Re: FITech Experiences ?

I just installed fitech on my jeep and fired for the first time yesterday. Fired first key turn and idled instantly better than the Holley projection that was on there.

Re: FITech Experiences ?

Yep,
Like I mentioned in my thread,
I didn't expect it to fire up on first try.
But bam! Barely cranked over and it fired up beautifully.
No hesitation. No hiccup. Ran it for a solid 20 mins.
Revved it up, let it drop back down three or four times.
Shut it down. Started it back up a couple times.
Not a glitch.
Right now, after it setting for a few cold days, I turn the key, wait a second for the click, and then crank it.
It fires right up.
Hopefully I'll be able to take it for a spin around the block tomorrow. Need to replace the idler arm.

Re: FITech Experiences ?

I have a '72 Blazer. Originally I was thinking of venting the fuel command center by t'ing it in the the fuel vapour cannister line. This does return to the tank but it isn't a dedicated return line. What are the thoughts on this ?

But Blazer under-bed tanks are different. The vent line to my Blazer tank is 5/16" line that connects to the very top of the tank. I am thinking I tee it in before and below the cannister on the Rh frame rail between the tank and the cannister.
In this picture you can see the vent port on the top rh side of the tank. (Lh side of the picture).

Yoos guys running the external pump, what is the noise level like?

I have ordered a kit from Summit and ETA is 3/28. Not a lot of time for shakedown before the Power Tour.
