Tentative deal ... fingers crossed.
So I made a deal to be sealed next week. All of my 67-72 truck projects going away except the panel (I need something to be buried in haha).
Its going to leave me with a ton of parts, mostly too big to ship stuff. But since I have almost everything safely stored away now Im not too worried about it. Heck this stuff is only getting worth more every year anyway. Wish me luck!!!

Re: Tentative deal ... fingers crossed.
Well I have my panel I would really like to get on the road in 2020. I must have had the darn thing for 16 year or more lol. And Im pretty sure Ive been saying Im going to get it on the road every one of those years. GOM is putting together a super awesome interior for it.
I also would really like to get my 65 Corvair convertible on the road. Sooo, as long as I stay away from the for sale areas of the board =) Gotta find someone to take my 41 Caddy off of my hands too. Plus this isn't a set in stone deal yet, we'll see.

Re: Tentative deal ... fingers crossed.
I’m sort of in the same situation. A guy I know came by the house shortly after I bout my 72. He wanted his son to buy it. He was about 16 at the time. The kid wasn’t impressed but the dad knows it’s a nice truck. Well fast forward to about two weeks ago and he calls me again. This time he brought his buddy by. His friend is very interested and is pulling money out of his 401. He was supposed to have the money yesterday but has run into a snag. Maybe the end of the month before he will have all his duckies. I told them I’m keeping the hubcaps. We will see what happens.
I know what you mean about staying away from the sales ads. |

Re: Tentative deal ... fingers crossed.
When you said you were keeping the hubcaps I literally LOL. Honestly I wont be hurt if you sell them with the truck, its a great look that will help the sale Im sure.

Re: Tentative deal ... fingers crossed.
They told me they won’t need the hubcaps. He bought wheels for it already.
The bad news is they told me after we shook hands they are going to cut it down. It’s going to become a shortbed. He is going to daily drive it. Yep even through the winter. Add power steering also. |

Re: Tentative deal ... fingers crossed.
I would say it's a good idea to focus on one project. Which makes me a complete hypocrite. Because it's easier to say than do. I almost never sell anything (Which my wife reminds about me of a lot) Something about the fact that she would like to park in the garage.
I did sell my Ranger to my friend recently. He needed a truck. And I was kind of proud that I actually got rid of something. Now I want to buy something else.

Re: Tentative deal ... fingers crossed.
What I want to know is how can it be that all along I have known CG is going to stick with that panel and get it done, out of all his projects, and he is still figuring that out

Re: Tentative deal ... fingers crossed.
Oh... right. You are wiser again, Leon. So you figure this is Mark's little cry out for help hoping the spark will ignite a website sponsored project rescue/overhaulin' kinda thing. It's ok Mark, you'll be chief designer still. But you'd have to make up your dern mind when you have a whole crew from all over standing there. "So is it the red interior or the black?", "This steering wheel or that one?", "Well where are the third and fourth options??"

Re: Tentative deal ... fingers crossed.
So the deal is sealed, just have to transfer the titles (ugh hope I didn't just jinx it). I've also decided to put the 41 Cadillac Sedanette and the 65 Corvair Convertible up for sale. Ill keep the one that doesn't sell. I love them both.
I also talked to GOM about my panels interior. I have to send him some pics first, but I may be changing that up just a smidge (its staying very bright red though).

Re: Tentative deal ... fingers crossed.
Congrats!!
It's not easy to find threads where you post pics, but I found this one and I'd say your photoshop still holds up 13 years later and would look killer done exactly as you drew it up. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...ighlight=panel I know I've seen pics of it fully painted before and it looked awesome.
