67-72 Auto Crossmember ?

I should know this but I am brain farting I just put a auto crossmember in a 2 wheel drive I am changing from manual to auto. My question is are they a front and rear to the crossmember? I swear when I look at it. It looks like it is angled toward the front of the truck. Maybe just getting old and eyes getting bad. It does have two holes on one side with brackets and nothing on the other?

I don’t think it matters but I have one here that has one hole in the back. Some of the trucks that had turbo 400 had two brackets on the back that held part of the emergency brake cable if I remember correctly.

I think they angle down a little toward the rear because of the angle of the engine/transmission. I don't know if this thread will help any or not because it is mainly about the difference in the TH350 and TH400 ones.

Both of my 67-72 T-400 trucks and my T-400 Suburban had the two rear cable guide bracket crossmembers.

Re: 67-72 Auto Crossmember ?

Cool, I’m not sure if I’ve ever see those cable guide brackets, on ANYof the pickups I’ve seen or worked on!
Thanks!
