Re: The Project Havoc....

Well guys, i got her running yesterday, after a bunch of leaky brake lines, a bad leaking caliper and a bad wilwood proportioning valve. got in fired her up, put her in gear and backed her out of the garage. Took her about 20 miles to seat the rings in, had a friend follow me in his truck. She revs at 1500 rpm on the highway, really low. I got back to the city and gave her a little juice and boom, a cloud of smoke came out. So got her to my brothers house and checked her out. Turns out i blew the front seal out of the engine, stupid cheap timing covers. Oh well. Put a liter of oil in her and brought her home, but when i left i gave her a little go juice and completely sideways, this thing has nuts. WOW. so today will be clean the garage and replace the seal and hopefully give her an alignment tonite if i get the seal done. Anyways she is great, the suspension is stiff but not so stiff that you knock your teeth out, corners awesome, have never been in a truck that corners this good, you just crank her and she goes, good and flat around corners, i love it, but i am not so sure the trans will stay alive for long, we will see, anyways later guys.

Glad to hear you got her on the road....you've had a lot of issues to chase...hopefully once you get the front seal and alignment done you'll have smooth sailing

Re: The Project Havoc....

thanks guys, my saying has always been, "if i did not have bad luck i would have no luck!". anyways, i will tear her down tonite or next week, have a few things that have to do first. but here is a coule parting shots, and as of now she is on the back burner once she is road worthy, and i will slowly start getting her all done for next winter and paint, get the mods done, the interior...... you name it. thanks for all the replies guys.

Congratulations on finally having it drivable! That makes it all worthwhile once you get to go for that first spin. Whatever happened to the paint job you were going to do to it? Truck's looking great by the way!

Re: The Project Havoc....

LOL, yah i remember about that paint also, iit will get done, i wil take a pic of what i did and show you guys, sorry about that, but my time crunch put a dwindle on that getting done, i had to choose. and if i could get a sponsor for my real paint, wow, that would be great, but not a chance in that happening. the paint companies around here are tight, oh well. later guys.

So, did you do the 150 mile oil change?

Are you running a flat tappet cam again or did you put a roller in it? I can't remember.
