The truck sits 2" lower in the back as is . I will be lifting it 2" and installing an air bag system . I am in the prosess of building a 70 long bed crewcab one tone dually 2wd to sell .

Hey guys I thought I would take the time to get a few questions that appear frequently answered.

I am regularly asked if I will be selling individual parts and pieces that I have fabricated for my crewcabs, short answer is no. I do however sell the parts and pieces of trucks and suburbans that I do not use for the cabs and by and large here locally.

The next question that is regularly asked is will I build a partial cab for someone, again the short answer is no. The number one reason why I will not do that is I am not and have never been willing to put myself in a position to have someone go back and say that they were not happy with their finish product so therefore I am only willing to sell these as a complete cab. Each cab is individually built and each door is fitted to the cab and adjustments are made as needed. There are no two cabs that are identical. Since my B pillars are hand made each one is slightly different than the next.

Third regularly asked question: Can you build me a cab that will fit on a (fill in the blank) frame. Short answer - no. The reason for this I am building these cabs in a way that I think GM would have built it. So any modifications or retroing onto a different frame will be done to the frame and not my cabs. The only modification I am willing to make to my cabs is to accommodate for a different power plant.

Next question: Do you only build crewcabs. Short answer - no. We are a full restoration and custom fabrication shop. We can build anything you can imagine, would rather not get into anything that defies gravity for more than 3 or 4 seconds - the FAA tends to frown upon those projects.

I hope that these answered questions do not give you the impression that I am a prima donna or any other fill in the blank bad word. For my entire adult life I have always strived to be the best at whatever I do and never willing to settled for less.

In addition for those of you who have been to our website, I think that the website SUCKS....so tomorrow I meet with a professional web designer and we will be taking it up a couple of notches.

Randall, first of all, you suck! I was going to hold off on a crew cab attempt, but can't when I see your pics. Your truck turned out awesome! And I am highly disappointed you won't be selling your custom rockers for these cabs. I thought they were priced right and I planned on purchasing a pair. Keep up the great work. Maybe I'll strike the money tree and just order a cab from you. Haha.

Here at Rtech we have decided to do it just one way and the way that we have chosen is to custom build one cab than to try to marry two cabs. In the early inception of our cabs we looked at both options and decided to go with our current method. Can you do it -Yes, would we suggest it - No. It will depend on what you want your end result to be.

Well guys I have been really busy doing all kinds of things.

I had a really strange sound coming from my right front hub so I decided to go ahead an tear it back apart thinking that I might have over done it on the grease when I put it together the first time. Sounded like the hub was not disengaging all the way and might be grinding. After closer examination I found that the hub bushing was completely ruined. I found metal powder all throughout the spicer hub assembly mixed in with the grease.

After scratching my head as to what was causing it, I finally pulled the entire spindle off to find that the needle bearing pack was not all the way in. (Have you ever figure out you did something wrong and don't understand how you could have missed it.) Apparently when I rebuilt this axle I just checked the bearings and saw that they were ok, greased them and put it together. Since this axle was a full time axle when I got it I had nothing to lead me to believe that the bearings were not in all the way because there were no hubs to exhibit a problem. So I pressed the bearing the rest of the way in, regreased it, and reassembled with another spicer hub bushing and at the same time replaced the yellows for the blues.

In the picture below to the left is the factory casting and to the right after I resurfaced them. (Yes now they are flat) Oh and by the way I have been officially inducted into the "Good Luck Finding any Spicer Parts" club.

Been doing some really good R&D on the roof. Installed the drip rail yesterday and probably will have the roof radiuses by Monday.

This project has been sucking the life out of my schedule. Started by taking off the front clip, then the one ton 2wd front suspension, engine and transmission. Fabricated a heavey duty 4wd suspension mounts, then installed a set of 6" heavy duty front springs, then a dana 44 big hub axle, then installed drive train. I built the front suspension hanging system very heavy duty to also facilitate the snow plow. So on and so forth. Turns out I ended up with an 8" lift which I now have to somehow make up for in the rear. Not sure which direction I am going to go yet but since this is one ton flat bed that I regularly over load it will have to be something very solid.

What is the furthest you have had to stretch the pick-up roof to widen it so the drip rails match the burbs. I am 1.25 narrow on mine right now

Hey Jeremy I don't stretch the roof. The reason why my second 2nd gen cabs have full length header pieces is becauseit splits the difference between front and back which technically moves your b-pillars out at the top just slightly. Another reason why these are totally custom one off cabs.

Yeah, my B pillars have to come in. I am building complete header panels as well, I was just wondering if you had a difference in your cabs when you started to put them together. Thanks!
