Re: Owen's C10

good lord that is going to look sick! This is my favorite build to watch right now. And I agree about the ease of steel wheels. I switched from polishing aluminum wheels to wiping off steel wheels about 5 years ago and will never go back! Front cap looks great too after CLR, but I'd be curious to see what the truck looks like with the correct year caps. Any reason you're going with these instead? Keep up the good work. I think this truck will be big when it's done.

Moose your truck is coming along nicely. It will be one hell of a cruiser when she's done! Nice progress!

Re: Owen's C10

Moose, I gotta be honest with ya. When I saw the truck you were starting with, never expected you to have the ability to do the things you've done. Why did you even spend the initial 100 dollars, you could have just as easily got to the same point starting with an old thrown out in the street metal wire bird cage. Incredible workmanship dude.

Re: Owen's C10

i can't believe i've missed this build thread until now. just read every post. WOW! i have a soft spot for 67 dark aqua poly. thanks for all the great pics along the way. i had a 67 with original 511 dark aqua. i spent a lot of intimate hours buffing with clr. and i have to say you have recreated the black primer fade extremely well. nicely done!!

i was also wondering if you had considered 67 caps. although the red ring wouldn't quite match, and the blue bowties sure look nice.

yeah....I don't know what you've been doing, but better late than never I guess..lol. I also have a soft spot for 511. I think it turned out pretty well, I may do the roof over someday now that I know I can do a better job on it. I have thought about the '67 caps but there aren't any around here and they're insanely expensive on ebay. I've had my eye on a few other styles but haven't pulled the trigger yet....thanks for all the compliments they are greatly appreciated.

heavy a.f.! the rear tires are 42 lbs, the wheels are heavier still, I'm guessing 50-60lbs

Re: Owen's C10

The ol' farmtruck took a brief peek outside while I cleaned up the shop. Still waiting on the axles to show up, I also upgraded to 30 spline axles so now I need a new carrier...hope to have a rolling chassis soon.
