My dad and I put in all the work between 2001 and 2003... He's owned the truck since '81 and handed it down to me when we did the resto-mod. The short list of work put in is still pretty long, but:

-tbi with a blazer tank in the rear
-power windows/locks
-serpentine belts
-700r4 trans/4.56 gears/eaton rear locker
-electric fans
-motor (built in '84, all forged internals, 355hp, 360tq)
-4 inch mickey thompson lift with extra leaf to support gas tank
-35in Goodyear MT/R's
-cut/shaped fenders to fit 38's (haven't had the cash to buy them)
- 1000w apline stereo (tweeters in rollcage padding, subs in steel boxes built into the floorpan under seats)

We did all the work except Paint/body work and Powdercoating the frame and various other parts. Took a lot of time, but well worth it! I showed it at a GoodGuys car show the month we finished it, then took it to Hollister Hills that same month and go to Pismo on a pretty regular basis.

Thanks!

Thanks Yukon old buddy. You and I basically started our old truck projects around the same time. That seems like forever ago.

Your jimmy is set up for some awesome 4x4ing, sweet ride. Is the front bumper after market or did you fab it? If it's aftermarket where did you get it?

Thanks! She has most of the 4x4ing goodies - d60/14bolt, 203-205doubler, Beadlocks, 8pt cage, etc.

The Front bumper was a Craigslist find (classified ads)- pulled off another 1971 GMC pickup.
Its a WARN aftermarket bumper but I fabbed on it a bit to add the D-rings and skid plate - they punch through to the frame with 4x4x1/4" angle iron. The farmer said he had it dealer installed or maybe he did the install himself back right after he bought the truck because he was using it getting firewood and he pulled down trees off banks with it...

It was a lucky find - got it for 100 bucks I think, sanded it down, primer'd and rhino lined it. Has the same angle as my grill and fits like a glove

Re: How about some pics of your 4x4

hmmm looks like if you find some bumpercorners that look like the ones that are on there you should be able to make sumtin simulair , the rest is all straight metal maibe a 50s 60s big truck would have a bumper that can be modified that way
