Re: Al's 71C10 Rebuild

Well I got up early today and went over to a local place called parker store. I bought some air line and fittings. Went to the house and fixed my left front air line and the truck is ready to go. I have to get my exhaust redone which may have to wait till january because of the holidays. we need to install the E3 leveling sensors as the wires were ran already is just a matter of mounting the sensors. I left to work earlier today but took some parting shots before I left....

Man I am so happy that this truck is off the jackstands.....

I can not Thank Raul enough for everything he did to make my truck come out the way that I always wanted........

I also wrap the air line is some sleeving made by Painless Performance Products.
It helps protect the tubing from chafing.

How did you cut the air line tubing?

Keith

We were adjusting the proportioning valve and while driving around my neighborhood we went thru a lazy left turn the line just went boom we thought that the line came off the bag as the way it sounded. We looked and could not figure out how or why it got a hole on it. we are thinking that maybe we left too much slag on the line and as we were turning it got pinched so this time we made it a bit tighter. I am waiting for Raul to come back into town so that he could go over all the lines as it "SUCKED" being stuck not able to move I had to call my wife to come get me then I had to come back with a floor jack and put the hard aluminum bump so I was able to drive it back home but if that happened on the road it would not be good.
thanks for your explanation. what I am thinking is driving it to my shop and putting it on my aligment rach so that I can see what the suspension does and determine if there may be an issue when aired out or while driving.

Wheels look great! I love how the fender lip comes just even with the top of the wheel. Perfect stance!

Re: Al's 71C10 Rebuild

Al you can see the line running up behind the shock tower in the first picture. I put a piece of rubber hose over it so it would not wear on the bracket.

In the last pics you can see I drilled a hole in the back of the airbag bracket put a piece of fuel line hose through the bracket and ran the airline through the hole. In to the 90 degree adapter in the bag. So the line runs from the back of the truck on the inside of the frame. Goes through the old upper shock mount hole. Behind the porter built shock bracket and throught the center of the upper bag mount to the bag. At every point that I went around a bend or through the frame I put fuel line around the airline so that it would not wear a hole in the airline. Hope this helps.

Re: Al's 71C10 Rebuild

Congrats again for doing a quality "make over".
I bet most would be surprised by the amount of money you layed down to do these mods.
The RideTech suspension parts, RideTech air management with the leveling system, RideTech tubular a-arms and their PRICEY MuscleBar sway bar.
Then add 20" Billet Specialties billet wheels and steering wheel.
Almost forgot the 4-wheel disc brake mods.

You did your home work and spent your money ($$$) wisely.
The results are stunning!

100% for sure wheels and stance make up a truck/car or it can kill it..

Keith thanks for all your help as usual..I definetly spent a great chunk on $$$ this time around let alone in the whole truck since we started in 2008 and remember that 90% of all the labor was done in house by friends and I so I saved alot of $$ on labor..

I am still not done as I have many misc items that i want to replace just because of wear and not up to the standards of what i want to accomplish.

I AM EXTREMELY GRATEFUL TO MY BUDDY HARRY, JOHNNY AND RAUL WITHOUT THESE GUYS THIS TRUCK WOULD NOT HAD BEEN BUILT.

Hey Al,

Did you find the shank lugs? Also I am looking for a swb fleetside bed only for a 67-72. Let me know on the lugs and the bed when you get a chance. Also did you post pictures of your truck on Pro Touring?

Regards,

Perry

Re: Al's 71C10 Rebuild

Hey Al, Im curious about the wheel clearances on your fronts. Im talking to Perry about some Intros and Id love to hear some feedback from how much room you have with yours...

An Im amazed at the drastic change your truck has made! I know how you feel about how much was spent and the changes it gives you. I just bought a front dropmember and some rear goodies from Nate. All that money that nobody will be able to see! LOL

Keep up the good work
