Ed, Don't tell Shane I'm answering a vendor's question for ya Since I just researched and bought mine I read that TRW has a 2 piece steel/aluminum casting, Ford has a 1 piece all aluminum casting. I have not heard/read about any clear superiority between the two. Both will work with the DM.

Ok, maybe this sounds rude....but I don't trust the DM...I'm not convinced it's completely safe. Nate, perhaps you'd like me to be a tester...and put the DM through some real trials....such as railing on the freeway at high speeds. Can the DM really withstand the abuse of constant railing??

I guess if I have to volunteer my time, then I'll do that for the sake of the product, Nate LOL

Chuck-

I am taking this as a humorous gesture of offering some more R&D for my product... making it a "win win" for the both of us! So if that's all it is, don't take offense to the second part of this.

but if you are for some reason being serious:

I do not, and will never advocate "railing at highway speeds". It not only jeopardizes the saftey of yourself, but all the innocent bystanders. (I could go on, but that should suffice).

With that being said, I don't want to sound rude either, but if your intent is to rail your chevy at 65mph on a public road with a Dropmember... I am not interested in selling you my product.

wow nicely said, I assume "railing" means dragging the frame while driving?

Railing is exactly what you think it is. I know Chuck was being humorous, and hope he doesn't take offense. But I promote safe air suspension practices!

Re: $999 for a Dropmember

Nate, for me the most important objective of bags is sitting on the ground while parked. To me, the main objective for air suspension is theft deterent

Everything looks better in the weeds!

So what's the turnaround time for the new design DM's now??

Re: $999 for a Dropmember

Nate, I'm ready and waiting for the group buy on the DM

Also, right now I only have stock arms...but if CPP or Performance Online arms won't work, then I'll have to hit up Tony@ART and use those arms

I believe the other TCA's compensate for the camber, am I right??

Conveniently, Nate is also a dealer for ART.

I have found thru research that CPP's & POL's do use longer upper arms to correct the camber on lowered trucks vs. a bunch of shims & ART's allow for better caster.

I don't believe Tony has made such a claim here. The promoter is Nate of Porterbuilt (this is also his thread, and the topic is the $999 Dropmember), and I stand beside him in his convictions... I just replaced a broken windshield (at my expense) because some douchebag in front of me dumped the back of his truck to the ground and kicked up a fistful of road gravel. I hope he enjoyed his railing and my $360.

Well I'm sure he was, that way he can sell the guy real parts and school him in safe driving practices from that point on

The new design gives a little more Dropmember to lower control arm clearance when using factory lower control arms, as well as more ground clearance.

The main difference between the new and old design is the price! Same results, same quality, big savings.

There's no reason to even think about Zing your frame anymore.

I went thru all the bickering thru-out various threads here.....and being that I've bent and welded a few pieces of metal together in my life ()...I can honestly say you have an awesome product.
