Weather Stripping that works for doors!

So after going the glue on route, I went with this set from Precision thru Classic Parts # 03-013B. Not listed online nor in catalog it does come up if you use search with #.
They are pushed on and on my 62 curves fit like a glove. I pulled down the outer bubble so you can see how they fit. Also the door/windshield curves. Doors shut without slamming.

They are the same for 60-66 as they aren't an exact length.

Re: Weather Stripping that works for doors!

These weatherstrips are amazing. I got them on my 64'. I bought them from GMC Pauls's for $50. And yes they are about a foot too long for the 64-66.

Re: Weather Stripping that works for doors!

I also cut about 6" section off. I hesitated to make sure it was tight. There was quite a bit of leftover glue I was not in the mood to strip off. Rather see if it fit first. So far wrong rack, cpp all in one master being junk, a clutch given a fit some extra wires to nowhere... I figured it better fit.

Re: Weather Stripping that works for doors!

I can't say if better than honda, but way better than the glue on. I spent a good 1/2 hr trying to get factory cemented one off passenger side. The driver 3m glue never stuck nor went around door like these.
After all the 60-66 "sure it will work" parts it's nice to have something that works.
NOW can I get a window sweep that doesn't hold the window open 1/4" ??? Got 6 pairs and not one works!

Re: Weather Stripping that works for doors!

OK I received them in the mail today, will try to apply them this Saturday. The section that presses on is cored with some sort of spring'd metal that will hold tight, I put pressure on the part with my thumbs and it don't move to easy, these should hold tight.

Both door $50.00. I have the passenger side ready but will need to remove the newly applied rubber and the 3-M adhesive...... then put the new rubber on. the job should be just long enough for a beer and cigar....... I'll take a few pictures for all.

Re: Weather Stripping that works for doors!

I bought the new push on set that Brothers sells. This is my third set I bought trying to get the doors to fit right. Let me tell you that they are great and they fit excellent. The doors shut nicely and look great!

Nsb29... the pictures at top of page are the new Precision one on my truck. I will have to go back eventually to clean all the glue and 3M off but I got the big stuff off from the glue ons.

Re: Weather Stripping that works for doors!

I bought a set for my 65 and they fit better than any I have ever had. Nice tight fit on the cab flange without glue. This is probably the 3rd or 4th set on it in 30 years. The first time the driver side door ever closed without slamming it. Nice. Look great. Only bad thing is I tore the passenger side slightly when I installed the kick plate. Anyone know how to fix that?

I will buy another set for my 66 when the time comes.

Thank you. No it is the Peel N' Seal from Lowes. Its $16 a roll. Much cheaper than dynomat. And it is for roofing so its waterproof. I have used 2.5 rolls and just need to due the high hump once I get my shifter installed.

Re: Weather Stripping that works for doors!

Just writing this FYI

in the UK its called Pinchweld w/bubble seal - Side
if you look it up theres loads of different version of this stuff - works really well and stays on the metal its clipped too.
Here in the UK its about £4 per meter from Auto upholsterers - I'm assuming you maybe able to get it cheaper in the USA

: )

Re: Weather Stripping that works for doors!

Installed mine today. They fit great, easy to install. My doors are a bit harder to shut, maybe they will break in some. Cab is somewhat quieter than before with less wind noise than my steel rubber glue on seals.

Just ordered some today for my '64. The old seals were a pain to get off due to the glue. A wire wheel on a drill works great, though!

Re: Weather Stripping that works for doors!

Guys... just my two cents. I just went to a pick and pull junk yard. Found a 2007 honda civic coupe. ripped the weatherstripping off. Left the yard, pieces in hand for $7.79 for both. the fit great.

again, just my two cents.
