Topless Suburban

Ok, so I keep seeing topless Blazers, has anyone ever done a topless Suburban? I know it won't be as easy, just curious. Seems like a topless Sub would blow away a topless blazer.

Re: Topless Suburban

I was thinking about it also, and as Frizzle said it would look way long. I have been doing drawings with differant ideas for the roof, even a small chop in the roof makes a Sub look very long. About the only way to make it proportionate is to shorten the body or wheelbase. Im not sure if I really want to go that direction or not ,just yet anyway.

Re: Topless Suburban

Ill have to scan some ,I do everything the old school way, by hand. I dont really use photoshop for anything other than photos. The problem is the drawings are bigger than the scanner bed so I have to figure out how to splice them together.

Re: Topless Suburban

That would have a lot of flex in the middle. You would need some serious frame reinforcement, but it could be kind of cool and definitely unique.

Yeah, that does look long. But it's still pretty cool.

Re: Topless Suburban

I think that 4x4 Sub looks pretty good. I think it would look better lowered without the roll bar though.

There's a truck out there with a lot of history called Krew Kut. I was a mid 90's crew cab dually roadster with 4 pump juice. That truck has been around FOREVER. if it can hold up I think a roadstered burb would be fine. Both have truck frames. Only diff I guess would be the Kut is a 1-ton frame.

Josh

PS anybody know if Brent is still using Krew Kut to promote his co?

Re: Topless Suburban

I think they gave that truck away in some kind of promotion with Street Trucks magazine. A young lady was the winner if I'm thinking of the same truck. I might be thinking of an MIC truck........??? I'll google it later

Re: Topless Suburban

The Mic truck was Krew Kut, a girl won it in some kind of give away they had a few years ago. I believe she is the one who had it when it was used in the Brentz ads and what not. Haven't seen it in any coverage in awhile

Re: Topless Suburban

Brent Walker actually purchased the truck from the gal that won it specifically to promote his company Brentz Wheels aka duallywheels.com. He also owned the old Orion dually and his own build a white Ford F-350 dually crew.

Re: Topless Suburban

I have pics of that truck from Jamboree in SoCal back when I was showing my 93 burb. It was done by MIC. I drug my jaw around all day after seeing that one. Very nice.

Both have long frames, but that truck has a bulk head between the cab and bed giving it support on the sides. I think I also remember reading about all the extra support they put into the frame on that truck.

I'm not saying it couldn't be done, but it would need support. Even the blazers have extra support to help prevent body sag when the top is off.
