Yep,stainless caps.

I think you could put 100,000 pleasure driving miles on that truck and it would still be worth $7,500 (or more)...if you kept it as it is. That's what I'd do. I could Sunday drive that truck for the rest of my life and enjoy it just as much as a loaded big block. It would get as many looks at a show as well. I wish it had 3 on the tree. I had a stripped '72 short bed about 5 years ago and after owning nothing but exceptionally well optioned hard to find models or hot rodded ones for many years that truck was a gas.

Re: WOW........2023 original miles

You guys are all crazy. I'd put a 5spd in it and drive it. Low mileage means nothing to me if all I can do it look at it. It's a truck, not a Yenko Camaro.

You're right it is a truck. But, how many have you seen this original? Just because it doesn't have Yenko value doesn't mean it's not rare. I guess they are out there and just don't come up for sale very often?
Either way, it's cool and the starting price is low enough for someone to buy it, drive it or show it.

Re: WOW........2023 original miles

I guess I am not a leave it stock person nor do i get the collector thing?! Granted its low mileage but its a standard model with no options not rare except for mileage. Plus its not in concours condition anyway. Being an old guy I have lots of friends with a "classic" low mileage car or truck or motorcycle eating batteries and dry rotted tires that when they die it will probably be enjoyed by the next owner who will actually uses it!
I see it as a great starter for a *****in Hot Rod or a sleeper!. Leave the body and paint alone adjust the stance a lil and put a late model computer 400 hp 6.2 liter truck engine and drive line, widened steel wheels/fat radials, and drive ithe wheels off it! Would proly get 20 mpg or better?

I too think its a lil pricey, but I guess you have to consider what a paint job costs today?

Re: WOW........2023 original miles

I have to agree with the putting it in a museum comment, which brings a question to mind. Does anyone know of a museum that would exclusively have these trucks in it? Visiting that place would be on my bucket list, no doubt. Btw, in my opinion, that truck is almost priceless, and should be preserved as a milestone piece of history. Any extra mile on that truck is foolishness. Anyone that would cut that truck up aught to be shot. Just kidding, but seriously....

P.S. I also agree with Jerry Jones on the porn comment.

Re: WOW........2023 original miles

That thing is a time machine. I've never been one for trailer queens, but I would love to have that one in my garage. I'd probably only put a couple hundred miles a year on it. And if times got tough, I'd sell my 2011 silverado over that thing in a heartbeat

15K is not pricey at all for this truck. It will sell at that price.

I agree, no underbelly pictures. I'd taken 200 of them to have. I like the body shop sign in the back. (HAIL REPAIR, lol)
But other than that, what a sweet truck. I'm in love.

Sure will....already has a bid at 15K so it'll sell....

...interested to see how much higher it moves up before the end of auction. I do agree though...if the undercarriage isn't toast I'd for sure have included a bunch of pictures of it in the ad to help get top $$$ if I were selling....but maybe it's rusty from sitting and not exactly a selling feature

The truck is in storage. I don't have a choice of what the guy next door does with his body shop & hail repair. We don't always get to choose our neighbors.

Re: WOW........2023 original miles

This is the reason I am selling my '71 Chevy. I wish I had more pictures of my 1967, but that will have to wait until warmer weather. It is a 1967 frame-off restoration. It is all original. 327 400 turbo, p/s, p/b, factory air, big back window, factory smog pump. It came from CA and was rust-free from the beginning. If you HAD to get rid of one of the 2, which would you sell?

It's very tempting. Trust me!

I did pick up a pretty clean 70 last March that is waiting for me. =)

This truck is just so beautiful though.

If I had someone elses money, I'd buy it and drive it! Just think how long it'd last if it was cared for better than most were in 1976. Wash it, wax it, keep the sun out of it- d@m right!
