Re: Project 78 High Sierra

Got the truck on the interstate and she is much easier to get going 70 and maintain that speed. However somethibg is def wrong with the speedo. Its off sometimes by 10mph and sometimes 20. When I was going 50mph I was actually going 70 and 30 was going 40. Not sure if my gauge has gona bad, my speedo gear, or I just don't have the cable in all the way

Re: Project 78 High Sierra

Try regreasing it, because mine is real jumpy until about 45+ I'm not saying that's the issue but just an option to maybe look at you know?

hey man, you ever figure out what might possibly be causing the issue with your speedo, or still trying to figure it out?

Re: Project 78 High Sierra

Ordered the final piece of patch sheet metal i need to de-rust the truck.. Called tabco today and got a small rear quater patch...Basically they are custom cutting me a piece so i dont buy the full 8ft piece...So from the rear of the bed wheel well about 6inces long and 14" tall.. $22 aint bad.... So hopefully i get that early next week before i go back to work and get it cut out and welded in

Re: Project 78 High Sierra

Well I got started about 10am this morning and went and put some bondo on the fender weld holes from the trim pieces. Then i came inside and was switching laundry into the dryer and a knock on the door. Whaaaat....UPS??? OMG The truck patch!! Soooooo I went to work!! bahaha So yeah...It didnt turn out perfect especially around the center...Initially it wall flush but it popped out a bit after a few spot welds....It was kinda weird put i managed to get it pretty decent. Im getting better thats for sure

Now laying around so my knee doesnt swell

Re: Project 78 High Sierra

Yeah, I need to finish my bed, and start tearing the truck down some more haha, I'm trying to get a friend over tonight going to buy new locks for the doors and new ignition being due to the fact my keys are about a flat as possible and wouldn't hurt to get some new stuff either.

Re: Project 78 High Sierra

Yeah, I think they were abused a little back before the PO hopefully when I change them, I don't have to worry about them again. Yeah I have all my keys on my DD set only key on my truck key is for the garage, because it's a garaged truck.

Re: Project 78 High Sierra

Little late on the speedo but mine shows 100 when I'm doing like 70.....I just figure the gears are off and it's mechanical so it probably isn't going to be as accurate as a newer electronic one.
