Nothing in the daylight but will get some in the next day or two. The truck is still at my buddy's house. FYI I'm still running the truck pan for now.

I just did a quick search to show you the type of slider I have and checked out yours too. It appears you have the shorter style slider (correct me if I'm wrong) whereas mine are longer and allows for more movement with the position of the motor.

Here's the link to the hot rod article showing the difference.

Re: 1971 GMC SWB "No Direction" LS build

Motor fired this past weekend but didn't stay running long due to a gummed up carb. It's being rebuilt right now and we'll try it again soon. We're making progress, slowly but surely.

I'll post video and pics once it cranks and runs for more than a few seconds.

Sounds like a good plan returning the sliders you have. I have the CPP tubular trans crossmember as well and really like it. As for faster progress, I've been saving up and trying to do it right the first time. The wife gets a little irritated from time-to-time but it's all good. Once she takes a ride in it the first time, she'll totally get it!

Speaking of doing it right the first time, I decided to go ahead and buy a new carb (Edelbrock Performer 600) and a couple of other motor related parts. Getting closer!

Thanks guys! That's just through the TBSS manifolds until we get the Sanderson headers on and dual Flowmaster Delta 50s. I'm pretty pumped!

Re: 1971 GMC SWB "No Direction" LS build

Small update:

Just ordered a Lokar Midnight Series Trans Dipstick and some trans cooling lines since the Griffin radiator puts the lines on the driver's side. Nasty, cold weather has slowed us down this week but hopefully we'll make some major progress next week.

It's the little things....

I know the feeling on the cold. I have zero plans this weekend and zero motivation to go out in the garage.
