The direction of my project has changed a bit.The small block that was originally planned for the 72 was needed elsewhere and I've decided to go with a big block instead.
I read somewhere that 2600lb firestones will push their limit to lift a bigblock.
True or untrue?

Big blocks are only ~100lbs heavier. It shouldn't make that much difference...

Thanks Gringo I didn't think the weight would be that terrible much different either but I figured I better ask around a little to be sure.

I know it's not a 67-72 but my "shop" truck has been bagged for over 10 years with thousands of miles towing and not a single bag failure

. I keep hoping one of the 'stones will wear out

so I can put slams in cause I heard they have a bit more lift but no deal. here's a pic:

Tubby has SS RE7's all around and a 476 under the hood. No problem.

I had a '72 with a 468 and Firestone 2600's and drove it daily for a couple years with no bag problems.
