315 will almost be perfect on a 12 . i have a 305 on tootsie and it has a little stretch. I wanted 315 but they don't make them for a 22. But they make them in a 20. Just my 2 cents.

Thank you man. It has been a little while, I bought that black GMC truck originally to drive as my daily but decided to flip it and pay for a medical procedure. I made about $4,400 on that truck and I am eyeballing another one .. 71 SWB short fleet Big Block, 79k original miles. Stay tuned.

Great to hear from you brother. I have my tailgate under a blanket in the garage just waiting for the new stuff to go on. I have arranged for my cross sills so with the bedsides and stuff I got a couple weeks ago I just need stainless strips and do my bedwood and it's oficially a fleet!

I'm still waiting on you to sell those off the Tootsie truck kidding .. Dont you need to buy some more for another truck and change your mind again? I like Billet Specialties.. just sayin.

Seriously, I have a lot in store for this truck it's just not going to go as fast as the GMC did. I was getting a lot of pressure from the wife to sell that truck so I did .. I never tore into it quite like I have this one, and I promise you it will be my best one yet.

If I can get that 71, flip it and make some $ I will be in the market for billets. Probably Racelines (Static 5) or Billet Specialties .. I like just about everything they sell.

Now that sounds like a great plan. If only I could convince my wife to let me do something like that.

I loved what you did with the GMC, so I'm excited to see what you and Pops do next. I'm sure it will be great, no matter how long it takes.

Re: 1969 C10 SWB - Big Block project

An update on the other truck, I never heard back from the lady that had it. It was the same lady I got the ole black truck from. Apparently she had several old collector cars and the 71 was on her property when I got the other one. I looked at it, sat in it .. nice truck. I think she may have sold it already though.

Anyhow .. I bit the bullet last night. I am going saddle on the interior on this truck. 69-70 buckets, new USA foams and covers from Truckseats on the way. I will be using 70-71 style CST door panels, wood grain dash and glove box door, Rosewood 3 spoke wheel. I have a super nice cup holder console to go in it too. Walnut wood bed.

I'm undecided.. Should I do Anniversary gold with Speedway white top / grille? 67-68 CST trim, Racelines OR sort of the Marina Blue color I mentioned?

I saw this truck in Nashville once before and I love it.

Chad I love the look of the truck in the picture, and all the parts you mentioned. My .02's, I'm partial to the Racelines.

I love the Anniversary Gold/White, and you don't see many around in that paint scheme. I say go for it!

That truck in the pic.. Is super easy on the eyes. I think the white top makes it... Not sure it be so easy to look at without that.

Re: 1969 C10 SWB - Big Block project

Mine would be identical with the exception of Raceline Static 5. I think that might be the ticket. I want something timeless but kinda unique too. Not to clone an Annie, .. but just because I like the color combo. I think it would be killer with a saddle / rosewood type interior and billet / Lokar touches. My truck was originally gold too.

I think it would look good also, I like a stock looking truck dropped with fat wheels in the back....

Re: 1969 C10 SWB - Big Block project

I love that 68 anniversary paint job on the 68 but isn't yours a 69 or did you change your front end to a slant nose? Maybe I missed it. I bet it would look good on the 69 too but what about trim?

Re: 1969 C10 SWB - Big Block project

I have a 68 clip (all really nice OEM stuff) to go back on it. Yeah it's a 69 Cab and had the 69+ front end on it when I got it. 70-71 door panels, 69-70 seats, 67-68 CST full trim. I'm just taking all my favorite parts about the trucks no matter the year and pulling them all together. I have always had a thing for the Anniversary trucks though.

Re: 1969 C10 SWB - Big Block project

Sounds like a great plan. I love the truck in the last pic you posted. Looks great. I think the racelines would be an awesome addition. Are you thinking of doing the white bottom too, or just the top and grille?

Re: 1969 C10 SWB - Big Block project

yeah .. white on the bottom too I just didn't mention it. The white would be 2001_ish Z06 Corvette 'Speedway White' I have always really liked that color. I toured the plant in BG back when the 01's had just started coming out. Speedway is a limited production run and kind of a rare color. I tend to lean toward odd colors I just like to have something a little different. Hugger Orange Camaro, Impact Orange 05 Rubicon, Copperhead on my Ram 1500, etc. Nothing against the common colors they are used regularly for a reason

Re: 1969 C10 SWB - Big Block project

This one's mine. . Not going anywhere. Its intended to be a tribute to Coleys garage and all the cars and trucks I have built with my Dad over the years. It will be a special truck but it will probably be my last build. I may flip a few here and there but not anymore frame off stuff for me.

Awesome! Sounds like it might be a good one to put your decal on the doors or maybe make up a license plate for the front.

Re: 1969 C10 SWB - Big Block project

Its official - Anniversary gold / white with Racelines. I have received my new foams for the buckets, and the covers should be here tomorrow (Truckseats) I'm going with saddle int.

I am meeting Harold on Sat to get my bed floor cross sills so Dad and I should be mocking the bed up soon.

I have also talked to the wife and she is going to let me get it painted. Anthony Martino here in Chattanooga will be spraying it for me. Yeah, I could shoot it but I don't have a booth.. etc. He will do a much better job with the metallic color too. This summer should be interesting.
