That horseshoe works for both v8 and six.
The six is longer--it moves to that tab in front of the crossmember.

Re: Got a 1960 ? on motor mounts

Your truck has the six cylinder motor mount perch riveted on the front of the crossmember, (it must've had a six originally). you need a horseshoe for a six cylinder to sit on top of that perch, they are not the same as the v8, here is the comparison. The v8 is to the left (the one that is sitting on top of your crossmember) and the six cylinder horseshoe is on the right. As you can see the v8 one is a true horseshoe shape, but the six horseshoe leans to one side. Unfortunately finding this piece won't be too easy, it only came on 60-62 six cylinder trucks, and in order to remove it from the engine the harmonic balancer and timing chain cover needs to be off of the engine.

Re: Got a 1960 ? on motor mounts

I thought for sure they were the same, with those extra holes in it for the mounting holes on the engine.
My '62 suburbn was originally a v8 truck, and had the tab ahead of the crossmember.

Which 6 are you planning on using.... The 235 style that came stock, or a later model 230/250/292 style?

Re: Got a 1960 ? on motor mounts

the other holes are for the 348. I would say you will need side mounts for the 230.

Re: Got a 1960 ? on motor mounts

if you have the horse of course. No body re-poes the rubber mount. If you have one i think steel rubber comp will re-vulcanize the org.

Re: Got a 1960 ? on motor mounts

If you're going to be using a 250 then why not just use side mounts with a 1/4" spacer on top of the frame rails?

Re: Got a 1960 ? on motor mounts

If any (like me) want to have or keep something that's a little different than what most people have, then this is the closet to "new" motor mount t for the horseshoe I have found.

https://www.steelerubber.com/motor-m...ice-70-1828-11

Someone has said on this thread or another to look here but this is the direct like to the page you need. I have searched for about 5 years for a new center motor mount and have NEVER once found one. This is quit literally the best anyone company can do. I have yet to get mine done but I'll be having it revulcanized when I'm ready for it though.
