Static drops are my preferred method also although alot of my static drops(ahem ,slams!!) I do have just as much work done as a bagged truck at times. I dont mind the adjustability of the bagged rides at all and think thats very useful....its just having a static drop of 5-7 or more rocks. Its not a Chevy but heres my over 5" frt and over 8" rear static drop on my 2002 Ram tucking 305/40/22.

Welcome to the board Lou, I am also a fan of the static drop, it seems that everyone does bags now to go low, well i am goin the other method, the less used and common ( shh don't tell anyone but i am gonna use dropped springs and such,) mine will be 5.5 in the front and 6 or 7 in the rear, should be nice, rolling on a one off frame and suspension. Can not wait, i start in a month on it

. Hope to see your progress and ideas here, we can all use the help and advice of everyone.

Welcome Lou. I like all the projects that you did. Even though I'm an all GM fan, you can apply so much of what you did to other vehicles.

I'm going with airbags on Project Bruiser cause after scraping my lowered Formula on everything, I don't want to be scrapping my baby up....then when I go to the show's I can air it out and having it look killer....best of both worlds IMO.

You know I knew something smelly was up when FlameBoy came on the show and spent more time talking than painting... And I must admit you didn't seem to be the same happy builder we knew last season [being a short timer will do that]. MuscleCars was my favorite part of PBTV, and I will still Tivo it, but you will be missed. And Jesse leaving Xtreme, man I can hear the crawler crowd crying in their beer.

Like Frizzle Fry noted, the Mustang is a killer build, the ultimate F*rd G machine. I really liked seeing how the flares were built.

Keep us posted on your build and if you didn't sign a gag order we would all love to hear what is with the revolving door over at PBTV...

Some More pictures for usez guys. I took some of that left over .50X2" and made a gusset out if it then closed it off with some 1/8" flat stock.

I re-did the kick ups because they looked funny then I figured it out. They were reversed. Now they are good to go.

I'll build the back of the chassis tomorrow. I plan on running a 4-Bar and some AFCO Coilovers.

Looks like its coming along nicely.

I always appreciated fab work actually being shown on todays TV shows and despised those who just wanted to show the fresh painted bodies and not how they got that way.I would rather see nice welds also rather than a sealed seam hiding the weld quality.

From what I can see the top piece was added because of the main crossmember itself where the upper a-frame mounts is taller than the main rail that was added. The added top rail took up the room needed to back up the upper a frame mount and will help in keeping the a-frame mounting points stronger and help with deflection in that area.

With all these hand built frames on here and all the great work alot of these members are capable of its a wonder more of these frames arent being built.
Nice work guys,others are watching like myself and can appreciate nice fab work and welding skills.

I see many times a project is shown and possibly a question is asked to why a certain piece is welded like it was,gussetted like this or that or basically asking about weld quality or more bracing and so on. I am proud that no one attempts to really thrash on a persons work. Constructive criticism is what I keep seeing if someone spots something out of the ordinary or welds not up to par,and others try to help resolve the issue in question.

Yo Slammed 1 I like that Dodge Ram. I've always wants to do one of those. For some reason you just don't see them all done up.

Shifty, Slammed is right the double stack is because the upper control arm mount is taller than the tubing. I could have picked up some 2x6" tubing. Hell all the steel has been kicking around my shop I'm just using all of it up. I did however notice a slight problem in the design. I'll address that later.
