Thanks guys! I'm very happy with the way things are working out. I'm going to be ordering gauges this week. Pretty excited to get the interior finished up. Also, dad said he will be painting the bed tomorrow, so that's some big news too.

Hopefully soon. I need to make an appearance and meet all you local fellers and see your sweet rides.

Rus, I'm gonna try my best to make the next work day. We're moving next month to a different house, so hopefully it doesn't fall on that weekend. Is there an anticipated date that everyone is planning on?

Thanks Mike. The paint came from the local supply house my dad uses regularly. I'm sure you can get it from any PPG distributor.

Thanks! I hope to have it on the road this fall to work the bugs out, and have things ready for next spring/summer.

While it feels like I've really been slacking, things have been crazy busy, and I've been collecting parts to make a huge push towards the finish line. My dad has received some parts that I've shipped to him directly, so naturally he has to install them immediately...as would I. These low quality pictures are all I've even seen myself. However I did receive a couple packages this week that I'm overly excited to get on this coming weekend. Hopefully by Sunday, I can post some good high quality pictures that actually look and feel like a truck! Thanks for watching...enjoy.

Re: Project: Rufus Restoration

All in all, it was a pretty productive weekend. Finished up all the wiring for the lights and got them stuck in. After a little adjusting on the headlights, they should be good to go. Also got some cab corner speakers installed, seatbelts in, and the seat back in, hopefully for good this time. I ran out of time before I had a chance to mess with the gauges though. Hopefully soon. We'll be cruising in no time!

Re: Project: Rufus Restoration

It wasn't the type of productive weekend I'd hoped for, but we did make a little progress at least. I'd hoped to go for a test drive, but it just didn't quite work out that way. We started with the brakes. The hydroboost unit I have was leaking power steering fluid around the push rod inside the cab, so rather than rebuilding/buying a new one, I decided to get a Wilwood m/c and just go with manual 4 wheel disk brakes. I gotta say, it looks 100 times better on the firewall than that bulky hydro unit. Of course I forgot to take a picture of it too. Unfortunately, the pedal is soft and squishy. I think I either have air still in the lines or m/c, or a leak somewhere. We got the mirrors mounted and ready to go. And last but not least, I got the gauges stuck in the dash. My tach isn't working just yet, so I need to try to sort that out. Stuck the temp sender in one of the heads, but haven't ran a wire there yet. And I still need to tap the oil block off plate with the oil pressure sender and run a wire for that. On the bright side, they do at least light up!...and the clock works perfectly!

Thanks buddy. One evening this week, I might try to slide by your shop after work, if you'll be around.
