LS interior wiring

I posted this in the LSX swaps also, but I'm hoping to get some input and pictures on routing my wire harness into my cab. I'm planning to mount the PCM under the seat. It's an LQ4 going into 56 Chevy 1/2 ton. Was thinking of going through the Trans cover, but wasn't sure if a lump would show under the carpet where the wires would run. Cheers

I am considering doing the same with my Burb and planned to run the wiring through the floor under the seat then forward along the transmission.

If you are running a floor console you could use that to hide the wire bundle running forward.

Have you figured out how you're going to run the wires through the floor? Bulkhead fitting or rubber boot? Just wondering how I'm going to seal the hole into the cab.

That's what i needed, thanks. Just trying to get some ideas. Looking at the picture, I'm wondering about the seal between trans cover and cab floor. I'd like to avoid slapping down a bunch of silicone.

My plan is a rubber boot. I like the picture Chuckdriver put up.

If you have moved the tank out from behind the driver's seat, I'd open up one of the fuel line pass-through holes and use that. Come into the under-seat area from behind, route wiring to one side or the other a bit & come up the body and to the back of the motor.

Hmm. Under the seat. I hadn't thought of that. I wound up going behind the dash on the passenger's side and it's really visible, which I'm "meh" about. If I ever do a second build on this... under the seat is the way to go.

How about behind the seat? I use the standard grommets found in most wiring kits and that seals it off well. Not a lot of water climbing up to the underside of the floor pan.

On my '51 I ran the main harness down the transmission and through a large marine grommet just behind the stock seat pan. The fuse block, relays, and obd port are under the dash for easy access, since I have a stock seat. Don't have any pictures right now, my truck is stored until summer.

I tucked everything under the dash on my 53. Had the pump mounted to the bolts for the brake booster.
I will have to look for pics.
