Power Steering (help please)

so i got a 1985 chevy suburban, the power steering is going out and i need some advice on it.. i dont have a/c but i will be getting some in the future.. so if i get a power steering pump with out a/c will i need to buy a whole new pump when i get ready to add air conditioning to the truck? and was also wondering how much they cost around.. i got some prices around 50-60$ it seems to cheap to be true. just wondering... thanks for all your help!

I doubt your steering box has anything to do with your future AC install??
Why do you thing it matters?

Looks like he's speaking of the PUMP.

Get one with pulley you need for a/c later from pick and pull or a yard.
I just looked at Rockauto they have rebuilt pumps for 50-70ish but no pulley!
Suppose it depends on what kinda a/c you will ad too.

most pump manufactures dont support a pulley purchase.

go to the junkyard and find the same pulley. make sure they have the same radius.. some trucks had different size pulleys.

get a two Vgroove pulley should not cost you more then five bucks.

Well i was askin around and they keep asking me if i had AC or not.. it threw me off because i couldnt think of why it mattered.. altho i did purchase a pump and it went on relative easily except i had to bend the metal hose coming out the back just to make it fit right.. pain in the ass! haha

thanks alot man, i got on from oriellys at a surprisingly low price of 40$! my truck had the original pulley on it with the spacing for another belt for AC so i think?hope i should be fine haha
