Is this burb worth it? 72 suburban

The guy wants $1500. There has been some work done. No engine or trans.

In my neck of woods that truck would fetch 2500-3500 all day

I would say so. If they did a decent job on the patch panel installation and other work, there is $1500 worth right there, so the truck is free.... Are all of the other pieces/parts included?

Yes. Near as I can tell. Door, fenders and hood. I don't recall seeing inner fender though. He has a bunch of other 67-72 trucks. One is a fairly decent 3/4 ton. Rockers need attention.

Not all the body work is done on the burb but it's close. I think all the rust is cut out.

Not really, but yes. It's hard to do any better these days. But it is all up to you and your wallet to make it worth it's potential. Doc's perspective hits dead on. It's at a good point to stop and sell. The seller will probably lose money and you enter the restoration at a minimum. I've always said someone could give you a car and it will still cost an arm and a leg to restore. This will cost $1,500 more than that and in the end that will be chump change. A guy could take an identical Suburban that was free and end up spending more than you for the same result by where he bought what for how much or paid whever to do what.

Re: Is this burb worth it? 72 suburban

If you are willing and able to do the work, it could be worth it - in fact, could be a good deal at that. If, however, you just like the price and not necessarily the truck, I'd keep shopping. I bet there are a few skid marks in front of that house...

I know. I was thinking that too when I saw all those trucks.

If anyone needs his number I can give it to you.
I've been thinking about the burb and blue 3/4 ton for about a week now.

Randy, I talked to that guy today. He was out of town, but going to try and look when he gets back later in the week, or Sunday. He will sell all, but I was mainly interested in the blue one. I can give you a report on them if you want?

Sorry randy, I didn't see your post until now. I let you and joe work things out. I hope all goes well.
This guy also has a few more trucks that I didn't see. I think they may be in rough shape.
