Do you have to drill holes to install these?

None at all - they make use of clips that attach under the weatherstrip. Peel back the ws, install shade with clips, press the ws back into place. It's a 5 minute job.

Wonder if a phone call to the company could prove useful - maybe cajole 'em into making them?

Thanks, I may have to order a set. Just didn't want to drill holes.

I'm guessing after all these years no one has found any. I've searched the last year with no luck. Lady 'Burban has them on hers but I think some one made them fit. https://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/...2&postcount=27...https://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/...5&postcount=33 ...https://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/...0&postcount=37

They used to make Ventshades for 67-72 Suburbans. I guess you guys will have to find used ones or make some

Re: Who's running the stainless ventshades?

I had a pair of these on a squarebody, I wish I had kept them when I sold the truck, I didn't know that they might be hard to find someday. Subtle and functional.

Nice, I have two of these in the attic. Someday I'll use one of them on my 72.

I like them. They've been in for years and look as good as the day they went in.

Re: Who's running the stainless ventshades?

My 70 has them. They been on there since 78 or maybe even before. I am going to have to investigate on getting them off and onto the replacement doors in the near future.

Re: Who's running the stainless ventshades?

I wish I knew you guys liked them so much. I took a good vintage pair off my truck and tossed them. Even though they look ok, I am not a big enough fan to to have left them on.

Re: Who's running the stainless ventshades?

When I first started using these they would supply short sheet metal screws for installation with directions to drill on the very edge of the window frame. I scratched a door up on one and never used those screws again. I saw at some point these started coming with clips for installation. I have never used those. For years I've been letting the window channel hold them in with no fasteners. I'll notice the back end drop on one and push it up ever no and then. I guess a spot of weatherstrip adhesive would hold them up, but it hasn't bothered me enough to try
