This would be a 1966 K80? And would be bad ass with a long bed converted to a dually like Dinos truck over in the 60-66 forum.

Re: Post pics. Lets see how many 60-66 4x4 are out there.

I posted up this picture of my "Big Ugly" about a year ago, back in post #370.

I thought I'd re-post with a few newer pics since it's kind of a whole new truck

Are these trucks ever beautiful, really like this style in a 2wd but just over the top as 4x4's.

No. The more you look at them the uglier it's going to get. So it's probably best if you refrain from looking at them and posting lame ass comments like that. Thanks.

That's like asking someone if their girlfriend is ever beautiful. You might really like her with big poofy hair but you think the Snooki style tan is a bit over the top.

That's only something you can answer. We can't judge if you think your gf is pretty. To us maybe she's just a 49 year old hag but to you she might be the closest thing to an angel you'll ever get.

I think this was a compliment, just mis-worded the first part... I may be wrong, but I didn't take it as derogatory.

You may be right. If you imagine it as a guy leaning against a truck with a beer in his hand, sun in his eyes, and half closed eyes staring at a 60-66 truck passing by.

Him: "Wow, are these trucks ever beautiful! Wish I had one or a dozen."

That could work.

If so I retract my previous comment and say, "Heck ya!"

It all depends what your brain makes of it, but if your truck "is ugly" it is ugly.

I guess if he doesn't like them as 4x4s he really won't like mine, mine looks better every day and is about as over the top as you can get.

Question Re: Post pics. Lets see how many 60-66 4x4 are out there.

I bought this '65 K10 4x4 sbss about a month ago now. Still debating what to do with it. In Alberta anything from out of province needs to undergo a rigorous safety before registering. This truck has the original frame but different leaf springs, Corp 14 bolt Detroit locker rear and D44 on the front a built 350 and 4 spd std. To pass inspection I'm thinking it will have to be lowered and "tamed" closer to factory. Meanwhile my other baby, 70 El camino, is getting jealous for my time. What to do? What to do?
What do you all think? This is my first attempt to post a pic - hope it works!

Re: Post pics. Lets see how many 60-66 4x4 are out there.

Yeah as soon as I saw it on Craigs I knew I wanted it (even with a 12 h one way cross border trip) but now I am wondering how much will it cost me to get on the road. I have these moments when I think sell and make a few bucks but then othrs where I think - just think long term and eventually it will be where I want. I am not the greatest a delayed gratification but lack of finances will help out with that.

Re: Post pics. Lets see how many 60-66 4x4 are out there.

wow, nice score, sure a great looking truck especially being a 4x4 also. In Sask we are lucky, just bought a 81 1 ton Gmc 4x4 a few months ago from Alberta and because it is 30 years old I could plate it as a classic for $148 a year without a safety, one really great thing about Sask. I was even able to add a package policy for an additional $48 a year and made the value over $10,000. Sure do like your truck though, have an awesome build.

that's a nice truck!

here's a pic of mine last weekend...

I've gone through the Alberta Out of Province Inspection rigamaroll... It can be quite a process, depending on what's been modified. PM me and I can find some of the docs and paperwork...

Re: Post pics. Lets see how many 60-66 4x4 are out there.

Hey folks,

New here. Great site and lots of NICE trucks!
Here is a picture of my sons '65. It is on a '72 frame with '76 3/4t running gear. 14 bolt, dana44, 4.88 with lockers front and rear, 47LTBs ect. It has been a Father/Son project for about 2 years now.

Work in progress, but hoping to get all the pics together soon and will post a build thread.

Re: Post pics. Lets see how many 60-66 4x4 are out there.

1961 Chevrolet I picked up a while back.

Funny part about this truck is that I found it complete minus engine/trans/interior and really was only after some of the steering gear and axle parts. The seller said he didn't want to part it out, and I didn't really want to buy a somewhat complete truck and just tear it down for parts. Something in me just keeps me from doing that...weird I guess. Fast forward a few months and I then see an ad for "parting out 1961 Chevy K10". I call the guy back, and he had sold the box, doors etc. I scooped up the rest of the truck still intending to use it as just parts for my 62 GMC K1000. This was back in say about last September. Now its May and I'm already trying to find parts to put this one together also. Even after the original seller sold most of the stuff out of it, I still can't get myself to tear it all the way apart. I understand that parts off this one and other can help keep current old trucks going and on the road, but I can't bring myself to let a 1961 Chevy K10 fade away.

Anyway, this one will take some time, but I'm gonna put it back together eventually.
