3rd Door dome light switch

I find it odd that there is no dome light switch for the 3rd door on my Burb. Are all Burbs like this or was it available as an option? When I get home at night I have to open the front pass. door slightly to make the dome light come on so I see what I'm doing while getting my son out of his car seat/gathering his things.I'm thinking of installing a door switch for the 3rd door.Has anyone on the site done this?Let me know what y'all think

Mine doesn't have one either. Although you could ad one pretty easily.

Re: 3rd Door dome light switch

There`s no switches on any of the doors in my `67 sub. It only turns on by turning the headlight switch. Same thing in my `70 panel, none at all. Only truck i every had with door jam switches was a 71 K10 sub and it was only in the two front doors.

Re: 3rd Door dome light switch

Door activated switches were not avaloble on gm trucks till 69 and not standard equipment till the mid 70's. It did come in some option packages or as it's own option. The rear door on the 3 door burb never had one avalible. I don't think the 78 burb i had even had this feature. It was uncommon in most american cars untill the 90's.
This mod has been covered in here, but i cant remember by whom. I think i remember it being a dark green burb.

Re: 3rd Door dome light switch

Someone put pin switches on all of my doors. Easy to do. Just buy the switch, drill a hole, run some wire and hook it up to the dome light circuit.

Re: 3rd Door dome light switch

Easy enough to do, drill a hole and install switch. Because the doors work off of ground you can just hook it to the front door's switch or run it up to the light and splice near it (white wire).

I'm thinking of putting one on the rear doors as well to some lights back there so I can see at night loading the truck. I stripped some off of a late 80s burb but have yet to install them.
