Project Cod Fish

I have been around for a while and even did a project or two and never posted progress so I figured I would post progress of our newest build. When I say we I am talking about my two sons Josh And Jon micheal. I guess this build is a family affair. We are goin to do all of the things i always wanted to do on on of these trucks which isn't alot because as you all know these trucks are perfect. We are starting with a 1970 model shortbed with 98,675 original miles. This was a one owner truck out of the state of florida. We are going to put a 68 frontend on the truck, vintage air, and a gmpp zz383 turnkey engine. We are also putting in one piece windows, and are rebuilding everything. We have not completely decided on a color but we are leaning toward 06 corvette blue. I hope you enjoy the build as much as I will, it is going to be great to build one of these beautiful trucks with my sons and pass on the same passion my dad passed on to me while just ridin in the front seat next to him. I am lucky that he is still with us and I thank god for him everyday. Well anyway hope you enjoy!

Re: Project Cod Fish

Well funny you should ask about the name. From the time my son jon micheal was old enough to walk i started callin him cod fish just a nick name I guess and it sounded fittin for the build...... my sons both agreed so that is what we named it.

Re: Project Cod Fish

Cab progress: Got some pics from the fab guy on the cab we are goin to use most of a donor cab as the one I had has some serious rust in the pillars. I trust the fab man so it was an easy call. Anyway we are using the back panel as you can see and that is about it. I ordered a new skin for the roof, full floor, fire wall, rockers, cab corners, and front and rear pillar patches this cab is going to be better than new! Enjoy I will post more pics as i get them.

Re: Project Cod Fish

make sure the end of the file ends in something like .jpg .gif .bmp or the like...i know photobucket adds a bunch of numbers after those like ".jpg?t=1228782262", so just erase the numbers.

good luck on the project, pretty cool to see the whole family gettin involved

Very nice! Ebfabman, do you TIG or MIG your repairs? After I become gainfully employed again I'll look to order your videos.

Re: Project Cod Fish

Where do you get the roof skin from, and is it aftermarket or from a donor cab? A quick search yielded me nothing...
