How big is your hammer ? got a welder? the sky is the limit.
I am sure there are things that affect the size limits. Like which suspension ? etc.
Come to think of it I've never seen a BB in one of these. Would like to !

Re: decided to keep the 51

small blocks fit no problem, big blocks fit, but take some work since they're a couple inches longer. The AD's with big blocks that I've seen all have recessed firewalls, super slim radiator/fan assemblies and the big block still barely fits.

but it's definitely possible

Re: decided to keep the 51

as they say in racing how fast do you want to go....
i would suggest a 383. i have a 330 horse 350ci in mine and am worried about too much power spinning me around. I'm sure if your planning on actually driving this you might want to aim for reasonable gas millage and more power than you can use which puts you in the stroker category. good power and easier installation with reasonable millage
my 2 cents

Re: decided to keep the 51

want to go big or fast?

to go fast on a fair budget my money is on a carbureted 6.0 with L92 heads. you can sink $3k into a smallblock quick and make good but average HP or put your $3k into this combo and make 450hp+ all day on a very reliable bottom end. check out luckyhenrickson's build on the 67-72 page.

either way you're gonna want a suspension and drivetrain upgrade first.

Re: decided to keep the 51

not to worried about gas mileage.. this is dads toy. im not a fan of 6 cylinders in older vehicles and such. im a v8 guy. i have a 4 cylinder eclipse i have for gas mileage.. and my 72 chevy is a 402 so i like the v8 rumble..
