Re: 75 C10 shortwide driver

So more frame pics... I know, boring.. we got the bed frame rails tied into my notch a bit better. The bed rails are 2-1/4 different than where the bed bolts, so we made up the difference with some 2x3, 28 inches long. This is about the length the factory frame is where the bed rests. We we finish by welding a strip of 1/4 inch across the top. I am also going to make some new brackets to plate the notch and take another 3 inches out of it. Kind of a backwards approach. I had no idea this thing was heading to this point when I started. I was only gonna do a static drop rear and maybe bag the front someday.

Re: 75 C10 shortwide driver

I also started this tonight. 42 inches if 2x5, 1/4 inch thick. I first welded the cab mounts because they will be getting cut with the frame. My welds still aren't the prettiest, but they are improving.

Thanks man! I'm hoping it will still lay frame now! ha. I'm pretty sure it will, because it barely lays with the stock a-arms and the existing notch.

Slowly...Saving up for bag parts...

New notch looks good. do you need to change your bed floor mounts to make up for bigger notch?

Rad man. Take your time. The bed will mount like factory. Except 7 3/4 inches higher to the top of the bed rails.
