Project urban assault vehicle!

Well im finnaly joining the build threads. Im fairly new to the board so I hope i get some feedback for the possitive or the negative.

To give some insight on this budget build. I got this 1970 c20 from my ex girlfriends dad for free, It had and still has plenty of issues. It has been sitting in my cousins driveway for about a year now just waiting.

I figured it would be too much work so I found and baught a 69 c10 2 weeks ago with plans on making that the ride. well after some prof. look throughs found that my new project was toast. cab is in pretty bad shape.

here goes.. as of now im only using the ned, doors, solid rear window off the truck i just baught, maybe some more as we go along.

This is the truck recently purchased (69 c10 lwb)

Re: Project urban assault vehicle!

Over the last 3 days, ive been getting off work at 5:30pm me and 2 buddies have been working till midnight or later with an all the sudden fire to get this thing atleast streetable. Its not by anymeans gonna be a sema truck but might get some smiles from the right crowd.

This is the progress we have made over the last 72 hours.

Re: Project urban assault vehicle!

The color is olive drab. aka army flat green. the guy helping me built it says "ill help you put it togeather but i get to choose the color" it layed on ok. you can still tell of the lack of body work. but a show truck is not the goal. will go well with some black wheels i think.

Re: Project urban assault vehicle!

I'd paint the wheels on it black, throw some hubcaps on it and drive it!

Re: Project urban assault vehicle!

that looks AWESOME!!! You'll probably get some guys commenting on what a waste of time it was to paint it with rustoleum, but they're just full of haterade. I'd like to see some more pics if I could. The cab and front clip looks like it dried a lot shinier than the bed. Is that just because it was still wet? just wondering. I love the look!!!

Re: Project urban assault vehicle!

diggin' the color and agree, some black wheels, with either baby moons, or just some chrome lugs will look good.

what are you lowering plans? static? air?

Re: Project urban assault vehicle!

I forgot, as of last night, I took 3" more off the front. painted the wheels black, and also taped the emblem off and painted that black as well.

as far as future susp ideas, ill end up doing bags but the budget doesnt allow it yet.

hopefully tonight will consist of wiring the bed up, installing the led taillights and swapping the solid window out of my parts truck into this one.

ill try to post pics of last nights work before to late tonight.

hopefully ill have the truck on the road within a 7 day start to finish period. lol take that overhaulin.
