Head debate

I have bought a set of World Merlin cast 320 CC rectangle heads for my BBC and waiting for them to arrive. I have since bought a used 454 engine for believe this $45. The heads on this are the oval port 049's. People have told me I would be happier with the 049's vs the merlins. They have said I will have no low end. The truck will be a street/strip truck with vary little track time. What are yall's thoughts on the pros and cons of each head. I can't see there being any seat of the pants difference bewtween the two. If any I would think the Merlins would help power over the stockers Thanks, Ronnie

Re: Head debate

I have gen 5 rectangle ports with the same runners, and i have lots of low end. The oval ports would probably be better for street, but mine are working fine for street. guess it just depends on who you talk to.
