The mere thought of syncing 6 carbs and them keeping them that way hurts my head!

Re: Edelbrock X1 Returning Soon...and I want one !!!!!

Edelbrock recommends their #1151 carb for this setup. Those carbs are $379 each! That's $2274 just for the carbs

Just run one of the middle carbs and dummy the rest. Might reduce the performance a little =)

3-bolt flange says Stromberg 97's, to me. The good thing is that there's an electronic fuel injection system that looks like the '97 carb. I'm sure that the price for those units would make the the Edelbrock carbs look cheap.

Yeah...but just think how this set-up would look ( and perform ) with a nitrous system on it !

I have always wanted to do a 8-71 blower set-up but a blower is not too practical for a street driven vehicle...and...opening up the hood with a big hole would, I think, take away from the lines of the truck and be problematic when leaving the truck parked somewhere unattended.

If you see someone at an intersection with a sign that says Will Work for Carbs...you'll know who it is.

I'd run 6 dummies with an AFB hidden in the middle.

Re: Edelbrock X1 Returning Soon...and I want one !!!!!

Couldn't you redrill the flanges and run 6 Rochester 2bbls on it?

Set up one main and 5 secondaries similar to the old 6 packs on the GTO's? Hella good fuel mileage and stomp the snot out of it when you need to drain the tank.

Re: Edelbrock X1 Returning Soon...and I want one !!!!!

i'd think a 6injector system not so good compared to a 8 injector system with an old hilborn intake

Re: Edelbrock X1 Returning Soon...and I want one !!!!!

I was thinking 8 sequential injectors aiming at the intake valves. But, after looking at the intake again, I don't see how you could put one in each runner. But the Hilborns are nice and spendy too, so I'll stick with my cheap old plastic intake and stock injectors and computer.LOL.

I play with these in the spare time with my dad. GREAT system.

But for a street setup, I'd use FAST EFI.

Edelbrock recommends their Holley 94 replica.

http://vintagespeed.com/ (Catalog at bottom)

Much cheaper and it's not a replication.

Vintage Speed has AMAZING prices.

Found this on EBAY and thought I'd post it. The manifold needs repair at the left front bolt hole. I'm thinking that it could be repaired with a TIG, but I'm not sure...anyone have any input / experience on this type of repair? The cost for the entire package is 1350 Australian dollars which comes out to $1410.00 US. I'm wondering if that would be a good deal just for the carbs alone? I sent the seller an e-mail to get a cost on shipping to the US...and awaiting reply as of date / time of this post.

By a good TIG welder, no problem, whether or not he'd guarantee it from breaking again, who knows.
