Tail light question

My tail light wiring was pretty much chopped up when I got my truck. I kept the plug and about a foot of the wire coming out of it. I've restrung the lights myself. The regular lights work both sides. Turn signal and brake lights only work on the right side. I'm not sure what the issue is at the moment. I thought if the grounding was ok since it works both sides when lights are on. Maybe not. Does anyone have any thoughts?

Re: Tail light question

check them with a test light at the rear crossmember , if its not working there you know the issue is towards the cab , if it is working , its in the rear wiring

If you don't have a ground wire from the frame to bed do that first. Then check the ground wire from the tail light wiring to the bed on both sides. I also had one that the whole socket turned when I pushed the bulb in and turned it, so the bulb never made complete contact inside. It took me forever to figure that one out.....
