SCORE!!! Well, I think so.

I happened to take the day off work today and was cruising the Internet. Found a new Craigslist ad for chrome framed windows and vent window assemblies for $350!

Made a quick check of The Car & Truck Shop and their price for these four pieces adds up to $648. Seemed like a helluva deal to me so I had to go look. They're nearly brand new. Not a scratch, spot, dent on them chrome or glass. The seller bought a '56 and wanted one piece power windows so he removed these. I want vent windows and even though I don't need these any time soon their condition and the price was too good to pass up.

Apologies for the poor photos but they're good enough to see the chrome is excellent

Re: SCORE!!! Well, I think so.

Thanks Don. Yup, I like vent windows AND I like manual windows too.

Re: SCORE!!! Well, I think so.

Some times it's your turn to win one. I'd say that is an investment that will pay a serious dividend when it comes time to install the pieces.

Re: SCORE!!! Well, I think so.

Repros or originals?

I do know repro vent windows have severe fitment issues but not sure about when they are purchased with entire assemblies.

No problem with fitment on repro windows for me though.

Re: SCORE!!! Well, I think so.

Hi Rog,
Pretty sure they're repros.
I took my stock ones to compare and they were identical. I read of your nightmare which was why I took them to compare. I opened and closed the vent windows and they work great; nice & firm. They're so new the blue clear plastic rub strip where the latch hits is still in place.

Good, smart thing to do before laying down the cash.
Glad you found such a great deal.

Re: SCORE!!! Well, I think so.

Thanks Roger.

I've got a question on another thread about using a Tahoe 3rd row seat like Orrie did because I want shoulder belts and the only somewhat safe mount for the shoulder belt is in the seat. Im hoping I can find some kind of deal like I did on these window that will drop the price from $400-800 which is what I'm seeing now.

I'd have done it already but it appears the mount on a big window truck is just flat weak.
