NOS Tailgate and Takeoff Tailgate

Need some more funds for my project....

NOS Chevrolet Tailgate - ZERO dings. Few scratches and a little shelf wear/rub. Very, very nice. $1000 plus shipping and fees. Delivery potentially available/included (see below). SOLD

Ochre takeoff tailgate - Again, ZERO dings. Has some paint chips that have surface rusted. Some scratches in the paint. Includes all hardware which is in perfect working order. The tailgate was stored on it's left side at one time, and there is some surface rust on that edge. The RH guide is also slightly bent (see post 11--shouldn't affect operation). See pics. $850 plus shipping and fees. Again, delivery potentially available/included. SOLD

I would be willing to deliver either tailgate along some of my upcoming work trip routes. In March, I will be driving from Denver to Las Vegas to Irvine, CA and then to San Diego. In April I could deliver anywhere along I-70 between Denver and Cloverdale, IN (with stops in Beatrice, NE and Mexico, MO). I also have trips planned to central Nebraska, southern WY, and Carlsbad, NM later this year. Would be happy to work something out.

Shipping (UPS or something similar) is available if you pay shipping costs. I would wrap them in moving blankets and place them in a custom-built wooden crate. Open to other ideas too.

John

I'm gonna buy the NOS one and make a bench out of it ....

Not really, I believe that'd be punishable by death in some countries

Re: NOS Tailgate and Takeoff Tailgate

You might send Joesjunk a PM about the take off tail gate.

Also funny to see "Mexico, MO" in your post.
I grew up there.

Sorry, no trips to Arizona planned or likely. San Diego would probably be the closest I get.

Thanks for the heads up Keith.

I'm interested in the ochre one, can you text or email me the pics so I can get a better look at them? I would want to use in on my ochre truck so I would like to see the imperfections. Thanks, Joe

Re: NOS Tailgate and Takeoff Tailgate

I found one other defect I want to properly document on the ochre gate. The RH guide is bent outward slightly, and isn't a true 90 degrees like the LH guide. See pictures. Looking at how wide the bed opening that this guide is inserted into, it appears very unlikely there will be any operational/clearance issues due to the tailgate's current condition.

Both guides on the NOS gate are 90 degrees.

Re: NOS Tailgate and Takeoff Tailgate

Exactly Dan, I was joking about using an NOS gate to do it though. I'll find a good junkyard one for that project

Re: NOS Tailgate and Takeoff Tailgate

Do you know when you would be traveling through Salina, Utah? If it happens to line up with one of my days off maybe we could meet up. I have been trying to resist, the ocher gate would go good on my ocher Blazer.
