69 dark red mirror cover, stock?

So I was showing a board member this mirror cover I got off of my black 69 parts truck rust bucket. Really had to take my time getting the mirror off and apart to get this off, super rusty. Truck was all stock. Spid said red custom cloth. All the vinyl parts of the interior are that really dark red I've only seen in 69's. He said he thinks the cover may be aftermarket. I have zero idea. It is kind of weird being that's pretty flexible rubbery. This is the only 69/70 I've ever owned. What do you guys think?

Hi CG, My 69 K/10 has one and it is a flexible material. Owned truck since new, so I would say original part. Never paid much attention to it--I will have to clean it now!

I have at least 3 of the smooth covers. I can't tell you what year they came off of. The one I used in my Panel Truck is exactly like the one you have and I know it came out of a '69 c10. Pic is a little out of focus.

I agree that it's 69 thing just like the one year style headliners. I have also had (3) 69 big block cst trucks that had no headliner or bolt in hump. That was way back before I Knew much about options, etc. Wish now I had some pics for proof.

This style was carried into early 70 also, my 70 Blazer has this type, guessing cause it was built in September of 69

Since the OP's question has been answered, I guess it's OK to deviate...
My '69 CST did not have a chrome bumper, deluxe side markers, a headliner or a cargo light when I purchased it in 1969. I called Chevrolet when I realized a couple things were missing from the CST package. They told me it should have had a chrome bumper (the dealer apparently swapped it to another truck), but the other items were added to the CST option about a week after my truck was built during the second or third week of Dec., 1968. As a result, the dealer installed a chrome bumper.

Still need a (lack of) headliner picture? I can provide one. Can't help you with the hump.

Regarding the mirror cover. This confirms what I've seen in other posts. The pictured mirror cover and color are unique to '69s. Additionally, at least on the 3/4 to and 1 ton trucks, the inside rear view mirror was an option. I drove my 3/4 ton truck without an inside mirror until 1972 when I had a 1972 mirror added to the windshield.
