glove box takes two hands to open, is something installed wrong?

ideally I would push the button and the door would just fall open but instead i have to grab the side of the glove box door with the other hand to pull it open... do I have something installed incorrectly? Is there something I can adjust to get it to fall?

You're missing the bumpers that pop the door when the latch is released. At the upper corners of the glove box opening, you'll see about a 3/16" hole in the dash panel. New parts are like $1/pr at your favorite parts supplier.

There is also a torsion spring integrated with the hinge. It runs the length of the hinge....

I've seen latches not release fully from being dry.

MAke sure the swing arm isn’t bent and hanging up. If so it’s easy to bend back for clearance.

There is some adjustment on the latch too. I used to have to really slam mine, and I put up with it for way too long. After adjustment it closed perfectly, although my wife forgets and still slams it!

I love happy endings to issues! Will have to see what’s up with mine.
